hey guys, when i got the supermaxx suspension i didnt know that my integy piggybacks wouldnt work on it. when the piggybacks are on they screws that go into the shocktowers to hold the posts on rub on the piggybacks and wont let the shocks move anywhere. so now i have to go and sell them and get me some new ones. and i didnt want to go and grind down the piggybacks either because i didnt want to mess them up.

Did you give any consideration to maybe getting a slightly longer screw and putting some spacers in to offset the shock head from the shock tower? You might want to give it a try. Then you can save the upgrades you have already purchased.

i have tryed that already but it didnt work. and then i tryed to shorten it a little bit, and that didnt work either. it is pissing me off because i have to sell them now. but i will get new ones, and then the other money that i have left over i will try and get the cybermaxx kit.

If you are getting the CyberMaxx kit, then dump the UE towers. You get towers with the CyberMaxx kit, and I think you'll be much happier with your piggyback shocks on that kit...then you would be with some other shock on the UE tower.

well see this is the problem tho, it will be a while until i get the cybermaxx kit, probably for christmas. so i want to be able to run my truck between now and then. and if i see the piggybacks i will probably go and get the integy shocks with out the piggybacks that are pretty much the same. and then when i get the cybermaxx i will sell my UE shocktowers and then with that money go and buy the piggybacks that go on them.

Sounds like you have a plan.

Guess you weren't really looking for help. Good post for to help those who might want to avoid the same situation.

ya i was looking to see if anybody had had this problem before but i guess there wasn't.

what about just replacing the piggyback with a standard shock top for now. then put them back together when you're ready.

i have thought about that. but then i decided not too. i am just going to sell the piggybacks and then buy the same ones without the piggybacks. and then eventualy i will go back and buy the piggybacks again.

how much would you want for you piggybacks and what color are they?..or is this the wrong spot to ask?...u can pm me if you want.

So are you going with Supermaxx shocks in the mean time?

I did, I only did 4 and the truck is awesome!

Note: what ever you do, don't buy regualar buggy shocks. I tried that route. the Ofna Supershocks have way beefier shock bodies than those used on the buggy's. I tried the cheap e-bay route and ended up with 8 broken shocks. Ofna did fix them when I sent them in (replaced the shock bodies) but those buggy shocks aren't enough to hold up a T-maxx on a track. So if going that way, Get the UE/Ofna Supershocks. They are built specificly for T-maxxes.

Hobby Shop NJ has them for $69 and now they come with progressive spring kits!!!!! when I bought mine I had to get springs seperately....

just use the blue springs up front and the blacks in the rear (they come in the new kits). I also run 60wt oil all the way around.
