Anyone familiar with filing a utility patent?
Just trying to get an idea of the process from someone that has been through it.
 
The only thing I know about patents are...I went through one of the tv advertised patent places. Sent them the info on my product and talked to them on the phone a few times and it was going to literally cost me $7k up front to get them started on trying to get me a patent! Once I heard that and they said that was "the" cheapest option, I gave up. Id sure think theres alot cheapers ways to get one though.

That was like 5 or 6 years ago too.

Gives me some hope seeing that $100 application fee vs. the $500 I've heard about
