Well, I got an Email reply from FLM, and again she gave me the number for Jamie, the techie who machines them. She told me that Addicted2RC is just a dealer for them, so she has no say in what he does. That's obvious, and now I can see that in the only conversation I ever had with him, he blamed FLM for a computer error rather than offer me a correction.
Since Gary, at Addicted2RC still hasn't responded to my offer of exchanging it for something entirely different, it only shows me that he is totally to blame for poor business practices and a non-existent customer service. Exchanging parts has nothing to do with whatever might have happened in the machining process, and I'm sure these plates are correct, but are for a different Savage.
I also sent him a link to this thread and told him to note how it was going down hill.
Since this is now Saturday night, I guess it's only fair that I give him at least one full working day to respond before I file a claim against him.

well the plates that you recieved are for a older savage. the savage x TVPs are already low CG. u can't get much lowere CG without modifying everything else

Seriously? Then Addicted2RC should have known that, rather than push the blame to FLM as a computer error.
Right now, he has my money, I have 2 useless pieces of shiny metal, but that's not how this will end.
Thanks for that info, Basher.

Just an update for you.
Gina, at Fast Lane Machine Emailed me and offered to do the exchange to whatever parts I wanted, and cut out Addicted2RC. Tomorrow, at the end of the day, I don't care if he calls or not, I'll be filing a dispute through Paypal and requesting that he refund my money.
I just want ALL of you to know that I'll be buying more parts from Fast Lane Machine in the future, and I HIGHLY recommend them, but Addicted2RC will never hear from me again.

Well thanks for the update. All along I've had my money on FLM coming through and not A2RC. Ralph is a good friend of mine, and you screw one of us over, you screw us all over. I will not be buying anything from them in the future, and that could be quite a loss, as I spend about 3 grand a month on parts for my RC's.

I just wanted to make absolutely sure that everyone knows that Fast Lane Machine is solid gold. You have no idea what a pleasure it was to read her Email today.

Just an update. Addicted2RC called me today. The last voice mail he got from me told him I would file a dispute if I didn't hear from him by the end of the business day. My message was abrupt, no nonsense and right to the point.

So, just so you can judge for yourself, here's his story:

He didn't get any of my voice mails because his phone fell in the water last week, and he just got his new one this morning, so this was the first chance he had to check messages.

He didn't get any of my Emails because his Spam filter probably filtered them out. How is that a way to run a business when that's the Email addy, WITH his name in it, yet unable to get communication with the customer.

I had to cut the conversation short after 10 minutes to leave for an appointment, and it was too late to call when I got back.

So, who believes him? No phone? Isn't that conveeeenyent.

Customer Email gets dumped by his spam filter. Yeah, right.

I even told him that I can't judge him or his business by walking in and getting a smile or a handshake. On the internet there's only ONE way to maintain customer relations, and that's through communication.

I'd say that's more than bullshit, Rolex. That's a grade A dump truck load of sewage. The line about him dropping his phone and not getting another one for a week.. That's total hooey. Every cell company out there would overnight a cell phone to a customer.

Not to mention, if his business' primary method of communication was by cell phone, you'd think he'd be a hair more careful.

Don't forget his claims of spam filtering. Unless I'm mistaken, spam filters "whitelist" someone if you reply to them. Even on the ISP side.

I don't buy his excuses anymore than I would buy another Integy Indi charger.

Wow, that's really shady sounding. Very unfortunate though. The last FLM product I bought was through them. I definitly agree that they should have taken better care of the situation. Brushing it off on the MFR is a poopy form of customer service. If it were my business I would have made right with you as soon as possible and then dealt with the MFR on the back end. If I had to take a loss then I take a loss. That's what you get when you're not paying attention to your product line.

I got an Email from Addicted2RC this morning, with a screen shot of how many Emails he gets. Who cares? He said he never got any of mine, yet the one I got today was a reply on one I had sent. Just totally bs.
If the plates were right, all would have been over, but when there's a problem, THAT'S when you find out how good the customer care is.
I had a problem with a set of titanium turnbuckles with yellow connectors that arrived direct from Hong Kong with black ends. One Email, a reply in less than an hour, and a package of yellow ends in my mailbox 4 days later. That was rc_mall, just so you know who to trust.

Wow that sucks! But on a positive note, I have an older Savage SS hint hint

Another positive is that at least you are in no hurry to actually use the truck

I'll be sending them back for a refund, then doing the deal directly with Fast Lane Machine.
Incidentally, the Email he responded to was the one with the link to this thread. I just wanted him to see for himself how much impact ONE bad deal might have on his business.

LMAO....no, but it's sitting on that shelf looking less than pretty since it's in pieces.

I ordered from Addicted2RC just for the price. Turns out he's only 15 miles from Fast Lane Machine, so he picks up himself, and doesn't have to pay shipping.
In the future, I'll pay a little bit more, but I'll never spend another dime through Addicted2RC.
Just remember, Fast Lane Machine makes BEAUTIFUL alloy parts, and they are solid gold for customer relations.

a package of yellow ends in my mailbox 4 days later. That was rc_mall
By the way, that was NO exchange, NO charge, NO shipping.

I tell you after dealing with companies like East End Maching, fast lane machine, maxamps.com, turtle racing, and team fast eddy, I usually base my buying decision more on customer service than price. I would rather pay a little more, and deal with someone who acts like my business actually matters, rather than save a lil and deal with a company that makes my life miserable. Some people get upset when I bash these overseas companies with awful customer service, but the way I look at it, I'm spending my hard earned money, and frankly I respect myself enough to know that I deserve better than that.

I totally agree, but sometimes you can only learn the hard way who to trust. After the deal with rc_mall in Hong Kong, I went out of my way to buy something else there. Almost felt like it was my way of thanking them for being there instantly.

i didn't read much of this other than the first post but i'll throw in my .02.

I ordered some FLM tvp's about 2 years ago and i got everything ready to assemble and then found out that all of the M3 holes were too small. I called and e-mailed back and forth and they finally discovered they had machined a batch with the wrong size hole. They offered new tvp's but i had already drilled them out so i declined.

Overall they seem like a decent company and they do make a solid product.
