Thought you all might like a look, I'll post some video if you want to see it. Custom built chassis 1/4inch longer and 3/4 wider, stock Tmaxx front and rear drivetrain. 8-0

BTW, i like the title: "RC Nitro Newbie"

I don't doubt that this thing runs like a bat out of hell, but I have a few questions.

1. Where's the transmission?
2. Are you even using a transmission?
3. Can you put up some overhead shots of this thing without a lid?
4. A video would be nice. I want to see this thing in action.
5. The title says 4 stroker; is that your way of saying twin two stroker? Or are those engines each a four stroke engine? Either way, what are the engines?

Nice rig and welcome to the board, Newbie ;)

Thanks for the welcome! The engines are OS fs40scx they are fourstroke engines with valves and cams. Here is a cut-away of the head. (Click the pics for more info)

The transmission is from a Monster Pirate, it a spur gear on a solid shaft. It is the toughest tranny made. Here are a couple of shots while building.

Here are a couple of videos they are 5.5 megs 2 1/2 mins long streaming video, the sound is kind of wierd in the middle and the engines are running VERY RICH about 170*f should be 270 but way too much power as you can see for being so fat. Top speed in the video is calc'd at 34mph with 1 gear I have since geared it up to 39 mph and still have a problem keeping the front down. The 2nd vid I had gotten a little more time on the truck and a little more handle on the throttle.

That looks like a whole lot of power. I'm thinking that thing could seriously fly (big air flying) with the proper playground. Do you bash with it or simply race?

Thanks for answering all of the questions. I knew something was different in the drivetrain besides the engines. So this thing is essentially a one speed? and that speed would be DAAAMMMMMNNNN!

Once again, welcome to the boards. Keep the hybrids coming.

Looks interesting. I am playing the devil's advocate here, but what did you do to marry up the engines? I mean so that when both are not only at full throttle at the same time but running similar rpms? I say one is running at 19,000 rpms at full throttle and the other is only running 18,000 rpms one engine will be slaving off the other and thus making the second engine just added weight rather than added power. Another thing, you might want to consider running your air filter in a different location rather than right next to the HOT exhaust.

Man that is a sweet truck. Great job with the set up. It looks better then factory!!

P.S. Can we assume you're not really a "Newbie"?

3maxxman....where in Seattle are you from? That track looks pretty sweet out in Samamish. Is it a private track? Where else do you run? I'm always looking for somewhere to run.

8-0 HOLY SHEIT!!!!!!! That thing is sooooo awesome!!! Just the sound alone! It sounds like a pissed off dog. It sounds like it is growling!! Cool man great job!!

That is pretty sweet! How do you keep from stripping gears? How do you time each mill so one does not turn faster than the other? I know I am repeating what El was asking.

Where at in Samamish? I had a buddy that used to live on W Lake Samamish Blvd in Rosemont (I think). My parents live just up from there (where I used to live before I joined the Army).

As far as tuning the engines, they are single needle carbs not very involved. I just tune for temps and the engines seem to do very well. The exhaust comes out with authority!, no need to worry about the aircleaners, besides I can't use the stock OS filters they hit the shocktower. The filters are for the RC10GT and have a paper type filter inside the foam that you see.

nitro dave, I live in Juanita (North Kirkland). The track is called Maxxland (it is in Sammimish) and is open to the public. It's in Cory's backyard so you need to call him everytime to go up, lot's of people bash there had some good gatherings and more people show up every weekend.
(Click the pic for more info). Hope to see you there. :D

Thats what I'm saying!:OMG: Do those beasts run on pump gas since they are 4 strokes or they run off r/c car fuel like the 2 stroke versions because I dont see any kind of an oiling system (wet or dry) so I am assuming they need regualar model fuel to lube the internals. Either way those things lay down some serious smoke and all I can say is KICK ASS!Welcome to the board!

they run on regular nitro fuel i was reading about the os 4strokes today
