I'm considering both of these for my second plane, after my Aeroscout. I know that the TTE has a bigger wingspan, but otherwise they seem pretty similar to me in terms of features and hardware. (Other than the Night Timber's lights.)

I have flown both on the RealFlite Evolution simulator, and the Night Timber seems a lot hotter in terms of rolls and loops, and overall maneuverability. The TTE seems a bit gentler as a plane. I have seen a few posts basically saying the TTE is a jack of all trades, but a master of none. The Night Timber appears to be discontinued, but is still available.

My thoughts are that the Night Timber, if flown with a 3S battery, would be manageable to start with. Then I could "grow into" it and use a 4S battery.

Any thoughts and pros/cons based on your experience with either one, or both?

PS - Also considering the Eflite Valiant 1.3 (a couple members of my club have one), but it's not on my version of the simulator, so I haven't been able to fly it.

Thanks

Myself I would buy the evolution. All of the Timber line up are great flyers. I would never fly at night so the lights would be pointless to me. Remember the Timber is a STOL plane and excels at that. But it also has plenty of get up and go for basic tricks like aeleron rolls and loops etc.

If your looking for something "hotter" then you need to get away from the high wing platform and move to something like a T28, or a Mustang.

Turbo timber is a cool looking bird. Choice is up to you, personally id get the new Decathalon from Horizon Hobby, its bad to the bone. Fully aerobatic.

Thanks, I had never heard of the Decathlon. It definitely looks cool, anyway. I watched some reviews and they are generally good, although it does have some quicks. I think the Night Timber might be a better fit as my second plane. But I haven't made any firm decisions yet. I am also going to watch the Christmas sales and see what comes up.

Make sure to take picture of your choice.

Good morning to all-
My Eflite Turbo Timber Evolution is the best flying plane I have. It handles grass TO and landings very well, and it is a joy to control in the air. The landing gear on the Evolution is a bit weak-I've got a new set ordered to replace the original set.
I recommend the Evolution very highly- a great little plane.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed
