Okay so it has always been a problem but just had so much fun not to care until now. When I give slow trigger pull to my SCT, it turbo lags or kind of sputters, than depending on what % I have the trigger, will just take off at the speed that I have pulled on the trigger. can't figure out what the hell makes this happen. I have ran my Lipos in another rig non brushless and it doesn't sputter so I dont understand why.

Thanks guys

Sounds like it's cogging.

Are you running a sensorless brushless motor?

Yeah, had a neighbor with a sct tell me that it was because it was sensorless but the castle link can fix all of that stuff for my low end throttle?

I am also noticing I am overheating after 10-12 minutes of usage, then cuts out for a minute, then goes again for 3-4, is this because of my spur/pinion combo? THis thing runs FAST!!

You may need to drop a tooth or 2 to help with the overheating.

As far as the cogging, if your transmitter is capable of changing the throttle expo, you may adjust it to smooth out the throttle curve and see if it helps. Otherwise you can try using the Castle software to mess with the ESC settings.

If you planning on messing with the gearing though, do that fist and check for cogging to see if the problem goes away with a gearing change.

My neighbor reccomended a 14-18t pinion on 88t (I run 87t) so I may try that with a 14t. WHat do you mean by throttle expo? Throttle EPA?

WHat do you mean by throttle expo?

The ability to adjust the throttle curve. Depending on your battery, sometimes cogging can be caused by a sudden voltage drop of your batteries upon take off.

If you think of a square box. The standard throttle setting is a straight line from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. Being able to adjust the throttle curve will smooth out the take off by making this a curved transition to full power.

Of course you could do the same thing by not having a heavy trigger finger.

If you are cogging when feathering the throttle, then adjusting the expo won't help anyway.
