RC Driving Style
I tuned my Maxx today here in Chitown where it was around 60. I've got the hsn out 3 turns, and the lsn out 2 turns, and it's running at about 250 degrees. There's plenty of smoke coming out of the exhaust, and the engine kills after about 4 secs when I pinch the fuel line. It's finally running pretty decent after learning how to tune it on my own, and actually popped a few wheelies, which it hasn't done since it was new. Do the settings I have it at sound pretty good? Lastly, it was running so damn good today, when it was heading back towards me, it slammed head on into my right calf at about 20 mph! Problem with that is that I screwed steel spikes into the aluminum bumpers, and it left a sweet 2" gash in my calf! Well, ya live and learn, and drive it like ya stole it!!

It sounds like you have it pretty 'right'. As long as your temps are good and you're happy with the performance, leave it where it is. I guess it's pretty new?
See smoke, get good punch, get good speed, get good temps, be happy.

I picked it up in the early spring Rolex. And, first things to go on it were a failsafe, Motorsaver a/f, THS pipe, inline fuel filter, and rechargeable RX pack.......and those damn bumper spikes!! I took care of the essentials first, instead of making it all pretty and letting it sit on a shelf. It's kind of a pain in the ass to tune it in, seeing this is the first nitro car I've ever had. Plus, this site is fantastic for any type of help, and I've learned quite a bit on here!

I spent the last 5 visits to the track tuning other guy's engines till it got too dark to run my own. Including today, with 2 newly purchased used Tmaxxs and one Revo. It's the SINGLE most asked question on this forum. Once you get it, you only have to tweek the HSN for outside temp and humidity to get performance. They are always pre set at the factory to run rich for break in, then need to be tweeked for running. That's where they mess up the settings on the carb.
You've also added all the right parts. Take out the spikes, or stock up on Band-Aids. Good luck healing, you've had good luck getting it running.

Thanks Rolex, I appreciate it! I hear ya about working on everyone else's stuff, that's why I want to learn on my own, plus it's part of the hobby. I think I may still buy that ultimate nitro engine guide book. I've heard it's a pretty damn good book, and it never hurts to learn more and delve into this hobby even more.
