tuning help please

I just put the dual tank on and now I 'm adjusting the carb the hsn is at 2 3/4 but the lsn is at 2 turns.The book says not to go below 2 1/2 turns. There seems to be plenty of smoke and if I put my hand under the exhaust and hit the throttle my hand gets plenty of oil on it. The glow plug has got 1 1/2 gals. on it, if that makes any differance .I only have two weeks into this hobbie just trying not to burn the engine up! Thanks for your time in helping me out!!!

if you have plenty of oil, temps are good... i think if the lsn is closed too much, it hits the msn, not good, if it is not hitting dont worry bout it, but if you feel any resistnce on the carb this is why....next, hope you had the msn marked.. you probally turned it also.. due to this factor.. so look thru it.. be careful... at least you know why it says no more than 2 turns..

question is.. how do u know it is turned in that much.. i have no idea where mine i ssitting.. too many hmm tad this way, hour that.. looking for the perfect tune i loose track on how much i turn mine..

The tuning can and will probably need to be changed as required by weather conditions. If you set the mixtures in hot/humid weather the engine will run differently when you go out in low humdity and different temperature. It is kinda like when you hear the NASCAR teams saying they have to hit the setup for the engine for the current conditions. This would be more important for racing than just bashing around but still holds true. My 1/8 Buggy is very tempermental to weather conditions.
