hey guys, i have my savage running pretty good but the bottom end doesn't seem right to me. both the middle and top end sound great but sometimes when i lift hard it makes that sporadic pitch waver kinda sound. This usually means the low speed is too lean am i right? However when i shut the engine off by cutting fuel flow it stalls out almost instantly meaning the low speed is rich. I've never had a problem like this before. It doesn't seem to be effecting performance because it only wavers getting off the throttle. acceleration is great, lots of smoke. I just don't want to blow up a brand new engine.

engine didn't seem too hot either what about the "pinch test" its supposed to be around 5 seconds.
also, i think i tried doing both leaning it and richening it and it ran even worse both ways, doing slight increments.

Is the hpi motors the same as Traxxas? I mean when I do a pinch test on my Traxxas engines I always go for 3 secs and anything more is to rich anything less too lean. Am I about right? Is 3 secs too lean?

There is a tuning guide in my signature, if you follow it your engine will tune perfectly, the pinch test isn't very accurate as each engine will consume fuel at different rates.
