I got a used 4909 w a 3.3 it FLIES

My buddy has a "new" (bought it years ago doesn't use it) 2.5 revo

HE PWNOED ME, what the heck!!!

Top end and high speed I win no problem..... but he takes off like a SHOT from a dead stop, My truck takes a while to gain speed.

WTF????

My Revo 3.3 and my T-Maxx 4908 extended weigh the same at around 10lbs 2 ounces each...The differences are in the suspension types...The mono-coque suspension on the Revo allows it to crouch, grab and accelerate better than the T-Maxx but not by much...like Rolex said a little leaning on the LSN will get you accelerating better...If you have your slipper clutch set too tight it will add lag to the truck also aswell as worn center and axle shafts causing binding on the bottom end...Good luck..

I am gonna try leaning AGAIN.

I thought I was too lean allready, thought it was running pretty good, till I ran side by side W him.

HIS SLIPPER IS SLIPPIN!!!! I can hear it. (not gonna tell him LOL) but I am still gettin pwned.

I can wheelie out of the hole.... seems to run OK but MAN OH MAN

His truck LAUNCHES from a stop. its not a weight thing.... its gotta be tune... he RIPS from a stop.... I just kindo GO.........

Revos have allways been able to smoke a t-maxx the revo is designed to race the t-maxx on the other hand is designed to bash.

If your truck does awheelie, its the suspension that is causing the problem... i mean unless you maybe richen your LSN so it doesn't wheelie as much. The wheelie is slowing you down, if you tune your engine for more low end power it will only wheelie more or flip.... basically you have to figure out how to adjust your suspension inorder to possibly beat that truck... how about top end does he get you there too?

on my truck i use 18/72 gearing and it goes like H***

I assume the 72 is your spur and the 18 is the bell?

I have the 3.3 so I am running a 58 SPUR (largest I am aware of) I guess i will have to look into the bell gear, i am not sure what size it is.

Since you're pulling wheelies out of the hole, you'll want to gear it for a higher top end. It's always a trade off. You can't have both.
