TRX 3.3 Engine Question

Here's the deal, i have a TRX 3.3 engine on its way to me in the "snail" mail and i need to know one itty bitty piece of info.

just how long is it safe to run these TRX 3.3 engines at max RPM under load (I.E, propelling the revo) ??

i did try asking Traxxas themselves, but all i got (understandably) was that "Our engineers do not release the results of their testing so I cannot help on the RPM question"

I wont drop names, but that is only a part of the response i received to an e mail i sent them (asked a couple other things at same time.


Before anyone asks what i need to know for, i'm planning a few 440 yard runs at WOT on a D-strip in my "home" county.

I had a buddy of mine run my Revo WFO for a full tank of gas in my front yard (grass) chasing his dogs around. Motor was HOT when he got done....but it never missed a beat. So that was probably a good 9-10 min of WFO....

if i was going to do that i would run 20% or less, maybe extra oil
