I need help guys. I am new to this forum but thats not the problem. I have a tmaxx classic with a trx 2.5 engine. I bought it used from a friend and just bought a new carb for it. it still won't idle. it simply goes into gear and won't go back into neutral. it almost seems it won't idle low enough for neutral. but the screw is all the way adjusted to low rpm and the throttle trim is quite low. i'm not sure whats wrong. any thoughts? also the high speed needle is fine because it goes great at high speed. could it be the low speed needle?

Turn your trim knob down to zero, remove the air filter, then set your idle opening with the brake applied. It should be about 1mm, or about the width of a credit card at the widest point.
Start the car. If it still runs too fast, richen the LSN.

ok well the screw just comes out when I try to turn it down. whats up with that? also like all the way back to the negatives or to the middle zero?

Can anybody help me? its kinda anoying that it won't go back into neutral.

It sounds like an air leak to me. Take the back plate off the engine and seal it with high heat RTV silicone. Also try sealling the carb too. I think thats what your problem sounds like if not, its the lsn.

well they're all bran new o-rings in the carb so its prolly not that. i'l check the back plate though. thanks Bryson.

i had the same problem in the fall and my throttle linkage wasn't set up right. take a look at that

Reguardless of if there new o-rings, I have had new engines that will still have air leaks, Id really look into it.

ok well my dad seems to think its not an air leak but he only knows 1:1 scale non r/c cars. how would I know if the throttle linkage is set up right? I'll have to check the screw thing. thanks guys.

Ok so i made some trial runs and here are my findings. it seems like it doesn't have enough fuel to start but too much to idle. does this sound farmiliar to anybody?

ok well it runs better but now the front wheels won't drive. when you turn the rear wheels the front stay put. also they won't spin when burning out. does anybody know why?
