Does anyone know the size of the carb o-rings (upper on the carb, and lower that sits in the crankcase)?

Id like to see if I can find generic extras, instead of having to buy multiple o-ring kits just to use the same two each time (having carb issues, and taking it in and out chews up the o-rings to no end).

Thanks!!!
-Chris

Buy an O-ring set from your LH(hardware)S. It'll have every O-ring you could ever need and then some. The entire set will run about $10 and last years, depending on O-ring usage.

What kind of temperature ratings should I be looking for? LHS didnt have any o-ring asstmts, and HD/Lowes only have Buna-N which is rated to 250 F.

Would the carb and carb base get over 250F? Viton rings are good up to almost 500, so I was looking to get those but since I can only get them online its easier (and a lot cheaper) just to buy bags of the sizes I need.

500 degrees should do.
You want to find one that will go over the carb with a little resistance. Make sure its not to thick to slide the carb in the case.
You may want to bring your engine with you to the hardware store.

If you need the exact size I will take mine apart and drag out the micrometer and take some measurements for you.

you know when you uninstall them they are most likey going to ruined from it right Eddy?

Well, I've found from Traxxas specs that the o-ring size I'm looking for (according to them) is 13mmx1mm. Now my only question is if the 13mm figure is the inner or outer diameter.

I could swear the throat diameter of the carb is 12mm, so 13mm would be the outside diameter of the ring (12mm for the throat + 1mm o-ring thickness).

Am I correct? The LHS only has the o-ring kit, of which I only need this one o-ring, and Id rather have a bunch on hand instead of having to get more each time (McMaster has the correct rings for 6 bux per 25 and I need to place an order soon with them anyway).

Thanks!!
-Chris

i got a Traxxas pack of o rings to rebuild the 2.5 carb at my LHS (hobby town usa) for 4 bucks and it comes with everything you need including i litte tool to get them on the needle valves. the little tool isn't really nessisary but is handy.
