Lets say someone wanted to compete with truggies in a revo? How well would a revo do against some of the better line of truggies??? I'm a nitro newb and i would like to know your guy's thoughts on this?? Everyone at the LHS says that the revo would get murdered. Now, not a run of hte mill 3.3 revo. FOC, BB, big wheel/tire revo with good servos.

I would like and would appreciate your input, but keep the flaming to a min. since i am a newb.

On a track, a truggy would murder the standard Revo 3.3. They are 2 completely different machines. One is a monster truck, and one is made for racing.

Truggy hands down. The revo isnt setup for that kind of running. Yes it's fast, but it doesn't have the suspention, handling and durability of a truggy on an offroad track.

As someone who has raced my Revo 3.3 with the Sportsman Truggy class. I would NOT suggest it. lol I get MURDERED...granted I'm new to racing, but the stock Revo is too heavy, and too underpowered to even have a prayer of keeping up with a slow truggy driver IMHO. The handling isn;t too too bad, but a truggy will outhandle it with it's eyes closed. Suspension wise, I think the Revo can be setup pretty well. I mean I can clear a triple at my local track without a hiccup. Suspension is actually pretty forgiving.

I am talking about a BB revo with 23mm wheels with some good tires and a upgraded suspension. I am actually working on a 4 shock suspension mount right now. So, you guys are saying it does not stand a chance??? Best to buy a truggie???

4 shock mount. Take this to the Revo section i want to see how it turns out

Wanted it in the general section since i wanted input from all rc builders/drivers and see how it turns out. Didn't want the input of just revo drivers, but all drivers in general that have an understanding how good truggies are.

You're just not going to get the handling you will need to keep up with a Truggy. A lot of tracks won't even let you run with them with a Revo since it's not a true truggy, and never will be unless you custom make a chassis for it and move the driveline up above. I love my Revo, but once I get my XRay Truggy going....I will probably sell the Revo off or just use it to bash around with. Revo makes a GREAT Production Monster Truck racer.....just not a good Truggy racer. It's like trying to tame BigFoot down and have it race with the CORR trucks. It would get it's butt whipped no matter how much HP it makes.

In the end you *may* get close....but with the money you will spend on it....you will probably still get murdered by a good truggy pilot. Would it make a cool project? Absolutely! If your goal is to race with the truggies and have a fighing chance....just buy a Truggy though ;-)

Just my .02 cents....
