What is the Difference between a Picco 26 and a True Picco 26 p3?? besides the blue head?

the difference is that:
the Ofna version come with purple head and the text on the side says OFNA PICCO,
the Team Orion version come with a silver head (can't remember the text on the side),
and last Piccos own version come with a blue head and the text on the side says P3, and then you may find a relative large price difference that’s all!!!
 
actually the P3 has different port timing to give it the extra HP the ofna/picco has 2.7 where the Picco P3 has 2.9.
 
Well… NO!! the 3 version of this engine are the identical all the way through except from the cooling head. Also the only place you can find someone that sells these “2.9 hp true picco” engines is on ebay and I can think of many good reasons why a seller would like to give the impression that the engines he is selling have 2.9 hp!!.

Also another thing, don’t you think Picco self would like to tell people if they had made a new version of there P3 engine with 2.9 hp?? If you look at there web site the only info on the P3 is back from last February when they released the engine (with 2.7 hp).

The only way to improve the power on the picco 26 is by porting it self or get it done by some of the firms that has specialize in doing it

The specs on the P3 reflect Picco's updated specs per my email from the US importer. The blue head may differ slightly, it's not oem.

Honestly I must still say I don’t have much I believe it, since Picco in Italy haven’t mentioned any thing at all about it, the only other possibility I can see is that Werks makes some porting them self on the sleeve.
Also cause the recently made RCCA test showed the picco 26 had 2,67 hp
?!?!?!?!?!
 
You should contact the manufactures direct instead of a lot of 3rd and 4th party info floating around.

Per Werks, thier P3 is not oem. He spoke of the porting and I questioned him about this very issue.

Email them and ask. My prior post is what was said.

That’s exactly what I’m doing !! Picco is an Italian company, and it is Werks that’s “only” the third part (US distruster)
 
Then let us know what Picco says. Werks is a 2nd party. We are the 3rd and 4th if you want to split hairs. Werks is ordering them from Picco to slightly different specs.

NO, Werks' is not ording them speced any differently than OFNA, Orion. Picco does not operate that way!!! Even the engines that Paris Racing buys from Picco have to be hand modified for more power!!

There is no difference, other than the colors.

That is different info than what I got directly from Werks. Good to know.
 
Just a little follow-up on our discussion and no I have not got an answer from picco yet. But they have just launched theirs new web site today which also confirm what I was saying about the 2.7 hp!

I heard the exact same thing. picco .26 = 2.6-2.7 horses. New P3 = 2.9 horses. There is a reason for the new P3 and we will all know shortly. Forget OFNA they are going to tell you exactly what THEY want.....besides they are too busy trying to correct all their titan twin problems......and I bet they have a fair share of old .26's hanging around that need to be moved!
