True Crime Streets of L.A. is out for Xbox!!!!!!!!!!

I got 2 hours with this game last night and all I can say is pop your collar, and jack your slacks player partna dude. Get ready for some shiznit.

This game is huge and rocks. Watch out Rockstar games your Grand Theft Auto franchise just met its match. This games has all the streets of the LA proper. The map is huge, and is true to life all made from GPS maps and has all the real buildings. Shoot just last night I got off the 10 and jumped onto Crenshaw Blvd jumped out my Benz and laid some lead all over the ghetto. Check this game out for SURE. I don't have enough time to properly review this game right now, but all you should know is you should own it. What are you waitng for? Get to the local video game store and buy this biotch!!!

PS the soundtrack is AWESOME, every song is by a famous Rap artist and some good Rock for all those who don't like rap. Just can't say enough about being able to jack an Escalde on 24's and the song bumpin in the car is Thugish Rugis Ball by Bone.

THIS GAME IS PIMP SUIT PLAYA.

yep Robriguez it seems to be out for the 3 main consoles Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube.

That was a smart move on their part looks like they released all of them yesterday. I guess they werent Playa Hatin on other consoles Biotch!

i seen the TV ads last night for it. it looks bad a$$. so does SOCOM II decisions decisions !!

Cool if its better than grand theft auto its good in my book. Sounds good ill pick it up.

I am so loving this game, I am thinking of quiting my job to play this for a living...................:naughty: :loser: :winnar:

I got it yesterday it is a good game but I don’t know if it is better than vice city but it’s a real close 2nd. Has anyone noticed the glitches? Or whatever you call it you hit shrub and next thing your trapped on the other side with no way out.

It is better than Vice City! How far are you? The first 2 sections train you if you didn't already get that. I have all kinds of new fight combos earned and all kinds of new weapon tricks, just give it a little more time there big boy and your tune will change. I can't get over the fact that this is really LA, one for one representation to scale.:winnar:

True crime is better imo because:

Slow mo dive like Max Payne (not in Vice)
You can shoot at 2 different targets at the same time with differernt hands (can't do this in VIce)
Real Location (Vice is made up)
More weapons that Vice
More vehicles than Vice
Bigger city than Vice
Better fighting control and way more moves and combo's in TC

that's enough for now.

I know you have all probably heard enough, but I like it so much I need to share. Ok The game progression is setup so sweet at every mission win or fail you have the option to cruise around and do sumbmissions and solve crimes. How you solve these street crimes contributes to your good cop, bad cop meter represented by the yin and yang. If you are good your endings are bettewr and you get different things in the game, if you are bad enough the city turns on you. Also the story has branch options for alternate stories.

Also for each of these crimes you solve, whether by deadly force or by fighting/shooting your gun in the air, or taking non leathal shots it gives you badge points which you can use to purchase tries at challenges to ubtain better fighting combos, cars, and weapons and moves. I am just begining to understand the depth to this game. Like with any Xbox game you are able to copy your own CD's to the harddisk and then you can throw them into the line up of an already stelllar like 100 soundtrack. You can also set soundtracks for slow action, fast action, and crusing.

Just can't really stress enough these guys may have followed the genra that Rockstar invented but these cats took it to another level and them some my friend. Not to say they didn't break video game virginity themselves with the whole GPS and satilite info creating the town on the fly bout a half to mile out.

Every game has glitches. Grand Theft Auto and Vice City are 2 games that I have seen the most. I been trapped in bushes and other places and would have to start the game over. Those 2 games are great, dont get me wrong. I would like to try that game lowrider for playstation 2 where you can build your car to dance or hop in contests. Has anyone played that and if so is it any count or worth buying.

HB is 100% correct. This game is so worth the cash. I picked it up yesterday and I am hooked. I am a big fan of GTA but this game is so much better.

Hey HB when you shoot up a car enuff to make it stop how do I arrest the guy without becoming swiss cheese? Everytime I stop a criminal I always get killed b/c they pull out an uzi. I shoot in the air to try to scare them into giving up but it never happens. And showing them my badge just seems to piss em off more.

ok ok I just got the game not bad better grahix than vice city better fighting than vice city better and cooler cars than vice city but the thing I dont like is the good cop bad cop raiting thing. Its so annoying iam like -22 and iam not even really that far into the game. I do like the game tho. One question is this guy asian?

Try shooting in the air when you hop out the car by pressing down on the left thumbstick them pull the right trigger, also flash your badge, down on left thumbstick the x some times you need to take neutralizing shots hold down on the right trigger for a couple seconds until it zooms in, and when the target turns green on parts of there body ( if you have earned this upgrade) these are neutralizing shots. You need to go around and upgrade your abilities the green and cyan icons, there are 3 types. The car icon lets you ugrade burnoffs, 180's 360's and other car manuvers you couldnt do before as well as giving you changes to upgrade you cop car.
The 2 directional icons are fight move upgrades, and the 4 way arrows are gun and gun move upgrades. Just wait until you start unlocking theses things, the game gets so much deeper and better. Here is TCSofLA's explanation of what I just tried to say:

http://www.activision.com/microsite/truecrime/ click game info, then click training. Its kinda takes a second to find because its all in flash.

KK I too at first had a bad cop rating, it takes training and time to become a good cop. Some of the mission, like the sneak ones (if you chose to use neutralizing moves instead of lethal) really builds up your good cop rating. I have to say I agreed at first about not liking that part, but it was because I wasn't playing right, as I learned and upgraded my training it makes it easier to get good cop points. I have +54 good cop points.

(edit) Mcvickj sometimes it is better to stay in the car and neutralizing people brandishing fire arms, be careful fo to do this to people that are surendering though as it takes a point away.

KK he is half asian.

Ah thanks for the advice. I just got the neutralizing upgrade last night. I will give that a try tonight. :)

KK once you get a lil further into the story it kind of goes further into his life. Like his dad and where he grew up.

I got sold on this game, too. The storyline's great. I can get a fairly high "good cop" rating, but I get shot up a lot.

One thing that bugs the crap out of me is the camera pan/right thumbstick relationship. This is totally backwards. If I move a thumbstick right I want to pan right! Have you guys gotten used to this? I had to pop in Halo to make sure my console and controllers weren't screwed up.

I got another question. How are you guys takin' the perps down if you're chasin' em on foot? I try to jump 'em with (Y) and keep going past 'em, then I start losing 'em because I'm panning the wrong way when I try to whirl around. Are you hitting the directional pad for 'fight mode' in mid-jump and then hitting an attack button?

Slide kick them "a" the bottom button, it sweeps them down to the ground. I have gone straight "good cop" and I am at the end of mission 6 fighting the dragon. I have got him down to %25 power left but then he roasts me everytime. It gets me dizzy cuz you got to spin the whole time to keep up with him. I am convinced I need to get the 50cals with the hollow point bullet upgrade. I am still trying to get the scope (hard to get upgrade 10 headshots!!!) so I think there is 2 more upgrades on guns before I get hollow point bullets. You can switch the controls WDH's give that a try and see if it fixes your issue with pan. Isn't this game sweet. I just bought the double pack GTA3 and Vice City for Xbox. So those are on deck for after the T.C.S.L.A. mayhem is done. Gotta love the Christmas video game releases.

I feel your pain. I thought the same thing about the camera pan. I am also very used to Halo and its controls. I have gotten used to it. Of course I never looked into the options to see if I could change it. I wish I had more control of the camera by using the right thumbstick. It seems kind of limited to me.

When I am chasing a suspect on foot I just slide into their feet and that knocks em down. Then I will either fight em or try to scare them into giving up. Depending on how far I have to run away from my car I will just shoot em. :)

Hey HB. Do you remember the mission where you have to follow this cop and he takes you to this house that is filled with 3 hobos? How the hell do you take out the 3rd one? I can take out the first two without too many problems. I just can't seem to land a hit on the 3rd hobo. And no matter what I do I always end up in a corner. As soon as this happens its game over. :(

I am currently on Episode 5 - The Rescue, Mission 2 - Bum Encounter.

Yeah that last bum was hella hard. You just gotta kick his ass, he blocks alot. I have to turn the controller side ways lock my thumb on the stick to the right, and combo fast as I can hit those buttons. Key is Monkey punches and Monkey kicks, get his exclamations up. You might need to go fight upgrade to beat that. Go to a dojo or 2.
