hotbodies has the.46 w/ the HB pipe and manifold or header, what ever you want to call it. anyway my truckzilla was running better than ever I mean unreal power. The very next tank my manifold fell off the motor. put it back on and now it is back to running ok but nothing like it was when the header was loose. is thier anything to this or will it hurt my motor if I open my pipe a little?

well the truckzilla motor comes with two allen srews and that not what I'm want ing to know. I just want to know if my motor is not breathing good enough

I know if you run a two stroke mill like that it leans it out and causes it to overheat, that causes engine damage?I'm pretty sure the same applies to a four stroke but I would also be worried about burning a valve on a four stroke!:alarm:

Running without a header or a loose one in this case, can give you great performance from the engine. BUT it is bad for the fuel economy and the overall life of the engine. The purpose of the exhaust systems on these tiny giants is to allow for a more complete burn of the fuel and oil within the cylinder of the engine. When the engine combusts, some of the oil and unspent fuel get ejected with the exhaust gas. Backpressure from the pipe and manifold push most of that stuff back into the engine for another burn. That is the way the engine is supposed to run.

NOW, you take the manifold and pipe off. You get a mess around the rear of the engine...but the sucker sounds mean and runs like a raped ape. End result is poorly lubed engine that gets pretty darn hot...and eventually fries itself (we're talking over a tank or two...maybe more).

If you can afford to throw away the engine, run it the way you like it. I would, however, recommend keeping the pipe and manifold right where they belong.

well I'm not asking if I can take the pipe off. I'm asking if I open the port a little on the discarge side of the pipe will it help. and the motor ran best when the pipe was loose not off. in fact There was no change in sound till the pipe fell off. and then it lost it's new found power as soon as the pipe fell off. so there is somthing in the mid range, where the pipe was leting some blow by the header and when it fell off. so I was wondering if the pipe they send with the kit is too small for the.46. and this mototr is a 2 stroke not a 4

GW rather than messing with the pipe directly I would see about doing any porting of the exhaust port and header that you can. You can of course try tuning the pipe although it usually comes best from the manufacturer.

I thaught "TRUCKZILLA" was a 4 stroke conversion with a longer chassie?

It's a .46 (2 stroke)conversion with an extended chassis and optional larger diameter wheels

You can port match the manifold...if it is not already a match. This will improve performance.

When you say loose, where was it loose? At the engine where the manifold connects to the engine? Or where the pipe connects to the manifold?

it was at the engine. thanks for your help I'm really tryin' to get it fine tuned

If the manifold was loose at the engine, then you were seeing increased performance caused by exhaust air bypassing the manifold and pipe. This was probably causing a decrease in pressure to the fuel tank and thus a lean condition (despite your needle settings).
