well has anyone bought and used a truckzilla kit yet cause i have and I'm not sure what to think of it. I'm not really that impressed over the stock 25 it's got more power but alot more problems. let me know if you guys got probs or is it just me.

i look at that post before and it contains no info on any body that has used this kit i'm just wondering if i got a bad motor or somthing

well not tryin to be rude but it would help if you told us what problems yo had?

The particular .46 engine that I saw listed for that conversion seems to be a bit underpowered. It is designed for torque as most low rpm high horse power big blocks are. The intention is for that engine to put some serious power to those freaking huge wheels. What you lose is top speed. So the .25 which is modeled after a racing engine and has higher rpms will produce less torque but with proper gearing a much higher topspeed.

Is there a way to fix the .46 engine and get more speed? Yes, you could try different clutch bell and spur combinations to give you more speed. Try a clutch bell with more teeth and a spur with fewer teeth. This will mean that more rotations of the engine (rpms) go directly to the wheels vice being geared down. End result...higher top speed but loss of torque and perhaps slower take offs from the line.

Tuning for one usually means a sacrifice on the other.

yeah road rage i was looking at that...but no one has posted any vidoes yet so i can't be bought....:flamer:

I know, that blows! Someone needs to get some good footage of one of these Truckzilla's in action!

my main problem is that what i've read about other savages is that they have a hard time keeping the front wheels on the ground. so with the .46 I thought that even with the frame ext. i would be able to pop wheelies on comand but, it's even harder to get the front end up than the stock motor. I have to hit a ditch or somthing simalir to get the front wheels even to come up. I'm even using the factory tires. that's the other problem with the truckzilla I rolled it a couple of times with .25 and the hotbodies wheels have stress cracks and one of the wheels broke right at the hub hex. The rope start has already broke after only four tanks. I also don't know how hot it runs but in order to get any power at all the temp was getting up over 300. I have a temp gun

The extended chassis and huge wheels are probably the number one reason you aren't able to get the front wheels up without help. Longer moment arm and heavier weight means more work for the drive train. The .46 probably doesn't have the oomph to pull the front up.

The HB wheels are, from what I hear, less than stellar in the material department. I have heard a lot of people complaining about breakage of the rims. You may want to consider changing to some IMEX JumboMaxx or ProLine 40 series wheels. Heck, you could probabky put the Jumbo Kong tires on that thing.

Kind of defeats the purpose of the TRUCKZILLA conversion. Why? You can buy longer chassis plates, drive axles, and tires for less than the conversion. Then you run whatever engine you want.

Just my opinion.

i can't even get it to come up even with the factory wheels and tires. even the factory .25 wouldn't hardly pull the front wheels with out help. is it my truck or am i just stupid

Well...the extended chassis (I believe the TRUCKZILLA conversion adds 2 inches) is the biggest obstacle that your drive train has to overcome. The additional weight or lack thereof is not really that big a deal. Its a law of physics kind of thing.

If you re-gear for more low end torque, you'll get the wheelies you desire. This means smaller smaller clutch bell (less teeth) and larger spur gear (more teeth). This will make more torque but will slow your truck down.

You wonder about your engine? It might be a tuning issue also. I can't speak specifically on the proper temps for the .46, but a general rule is to not let the engine get over 300 degrees...might get performance but it might also cost you the engine.

BTW, why so interested in wheelies. They might be cool for a while...but only for a short while.

well so far I am still waiting for mine... i order the one without wheels since I already have the HB Mayhems on UFOs... and it's all about the CB//Spur Gear combo...

cb 17 spur gear 51 on the truckzilla. when it was factory it was cb18 and spur 51. I changed the factory 49 spur on the .25 to 51 and really no difference

one tooth really makes a difference....
I've done many of combinations
with both stock and Mayhem tires

I did a review on it...

your 18TCB and 51Spur gear is a pretty weak combination
compared to the 18TCB 49 factory...
Meaning weak torque but more top speed

especially with the 18T CB...
that is tooo high for a savage...
even though they offer it on the SS or RTR
I would never put it on a savage...

you toss in that 15T you will notice a difference with that 49T spur gear... MAJOR DIFFERENCE

If not.. you are not tuning your engine right

you want wheelies on your truck....

do a 52T spur gear and a 13TCB

or even a 48T spur gear and a 13/14T

I've pulledy wheelies on my Mayhem tires where are the same size of the truckzilla with my WASP 26 stock chasis with the 49T/14T or 13T

Actucally not wheelies, more like riding on my bumper 90 degrees

FINALLY A TRACKING # for my Truckzilla kit w/o tires is on the way!!!!! report of more snow!!!!!

I don't care that it is a ALL TORQUE motor....

It would be perfect for this weather or any Heavy thick terrain!!

well the truckzilla project that I've been working on now for about 2 weeks is coming to an end. there is not an extreme amont of power but very more aggressive than the stock .25 I would not advise anyone to buy the kit w/ tires and wheels. they only lasted one tank and they all have stress cracks in them, and one wheel is broke completely. This is not a wheelie machine but the power is very much there it would get a way from a firstimer very fast. I'm not getting very much run time out of it and really don'[t know why. I think it's cause the .46 is just gonna run hot. I got on my 2nd tank straight and got well over 300. so I think it might be a little lean. the pull start was a real pain in the butt, it didn't want to start at all. I had to put one foot on the rollbar and try and hold it on the ground w/ my foot, it was a task. when the roto start went on it started after only 5 to 6 sec of turning. and starts every time like that. well hope you guys who have them on the way get a lot out of them, and I would love to hear your veiws and tips. thanks alot for the help guys
