got my revo today and can't get it to start.. the engine turns over but when i plug my glow ignitor in it doesn't start.. i can turn the engine over though with my wand.. it is getting fuel and set at factory settings.. any ideas?
 
change the plug, or, you can first check it by pulling it out and putting the starter to it. if it glows, you're good.

it also might be flooded. take the plug out, turn it upside down and give it a few cranks. plug it back in and give it a go.

ooorrrrr, just try putting your finger over the exhaust tip for a few seconds while trying to start it... i almost always do that.

if its cold where you live that could be it i find that heating it with a blow dryer helps a ton!
 
kool.. I'm in the chttanooga, tennesse area.. pretty warm here right now..lol...glow plug is good...put finger over exhaust.it sputtered for a second of 2 then cut off.. making some progress :)

truck starts but now i have a new problem... i press gas and it almost just rolls around as fast as one of those rc cars u get at dollar tree or something?? what am i missing? why is it not going fast? i am holding gas wide open and it just goes slow around yard
 
If this is the one you bought from Talon....He is "slightly" higher than you are above Sea Level. It may need to be tuned! I will bet that the air where he lives is a "bit" lighter than the air in Tennessee. LOL. That is probably what it is....

yea.. got it from talon... that is what my lhs said.. need to tune it :) i can't wait to play with my revo :)

Make darn sure you read how to tune it, so you have more and longer fun with it than you will if you treat it like a dollar tree car :o)
 
Let us know Swarmjt.....it was certainly a rough start to your experience....and I apologize for having mixed up the radio crystals....sometimes I am a dumb ass of the highest order. LMK if you want some $$$ for the crystal you had to buy.

I suspect the tune is the answer...take your time and read and then re read the distructions. ;)

You can do it.....and BTW when the tune dials in, you will know it, as that truck with that engine ....screams!!! You will have trouble controlling it.

lol..i have no hard feelings toward ya talonone... i am ready to baby this thing in.. I've made leaps and bounds and am learning TONS through this process... overall this is turning into a positive expirience :) can't wait to see what she can do

and when this beauty is running ill take some video and post it

The FUN is in the learning....when you are done you will know her inside and out.......:redbuggy:
 
back to square one...i got it to idle fine and then everytime i pressed the gas it died instantly.. i think i flooded the engine.. will try again later :-(
 
no air leaks..def checked that.. gonna go back to factory settings and "un-flood" the engine and try again in the morning..gotta work till nine..don't think neighbors would appreciate me outside at 10pm..i wanna figure this out :)
 
finally.. got it dialed it... runs great :) next thing on list... the 2 wheels on one side spinf faster than those on the other side..what gives? i am loving my truck!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
 
Might be a bearing on one side....or some sort of resistance....dirt small rocks ........because of the center diff...it will pull to one side or the other ...or to one particular wheel if there is any restriction on it at .

SOOOOO clean everything up and had test the drive lines from front to back and side to side...this should reveal the offender.....glad to hear it is running.....

will post video soon.. completely satisfied with it.. having a blast driving it.. discovered missing/ broken part.. the spur gear came off today while driving..no allens were holding it on..but that screw kit u gave me hopefully saved the day..will know in the morning for the next bash session
 
one question... as i was bashing today (it felt so good) i saw an odd thing happen that i can't explain.. i was driving it down the dtreet and at two completely different times a bunch of water shot all over the pavement and in the air. i think it came from the tires because one tire was wet in one spot..any ideas?
 
If you got them wet the foams inside will retain water.......and then when you ripping it up the centrifugal force pushes the water out........may have been some in them....can't recall if my last session with that one was a wet one or not.....I usually dry things pretty good and if I get the tires really wet I put then in my office with the heat way up to pull out the moisture.


Best of luck....yea the screw kits are invaluable.....when that one is burnt up be sure to get a fresh one from FAST Eddy here on this site.....good guy.
