well, i just got done putting my maxx back together with all new suspension and FOC, but when i went to drive it the engine just wouldnt run. i was trying my odonnell fuel for the first time, and figured that it might be the gas, so i emptied that out and put in my other stuff that i normally use and it still wouldnt run. it would start up, and i could get it to go about 10 feet and then it would just die even when i was still on the throttle. i checked everything i could think of. its very strange cause it was running fine when i took it apart and i didnt change anything on the engine. it sounds like its running rich, but i adjusted the hi speed needle all the way in from 4 out to 2 turns out and it still didnt make a difference. i have no idea where to go from here, so any help would be very appreciated.

You may want to try adjusting your low-speed needle some. Try leaning it out a little, but be sure to watch your temps.

i thought about that too, but it was running fine the last time i had it out and i didnt change anything, so the lsn should be ok. right now its flush.

i just went out and tryed againg, and now it wont even start at all. its like the engine is done for, but I've only had a half of a gallon through it!

fuel lines are good. i took out the hsn and was looking at it and assume that the little hole in the side of it lines up with where the fuel comes in from the fuel line. i fooled with it for a while and nothing was different. I'm so pissed cause i know it can work, but i have no idea why its acting like this. it also doesn't seem like its turning over at the speed it used to with a fully charged battery.

well that sucks i dont know what i could be at this point...umm you prolly already checked this but hows your glow plug? My Sister Boyfreinds Nitro Rush was Doing Similar Stuff but it turned out it had no compression or something like that. umm Mabe you engine is done for.

Engine Age?

How much fuel has been through the motor? How good did it run before you disassembled it?

If you took the carb apart, that may also have something to do with it. HSN should be 4 turns out, and LSN should be flush.

Set the idle to just barely open, make sure it does not close all the way.

Just make sure everything is good to go.

I've only had half a gallon through it...only 2 months old, and i never disassembled it. also, when it was running for the short time, it was smoking a lot...white smoke.

smoke from the exhaust is a good thing, it ensures that the engine is getting adequate lubrication.

Try cleaning the engine, get some nitro and pour it through the carburator venturi opening (air) while turning the engine over with the glow plug out.

Set the needles back to stock (hsn 4 out, lsn flush, idle barely open)

Also check the glow plug, make sure it's lighting all the way. I'd also recommend that you get rid of the blue wire from your wiring harnass and go with a standard ignitor.

Good luck!

I've found that it's a lot easier to start a cold engine if I point a hair dryer at the cooling head for a minute and a half.
