wondering why its beginning to do this. i tried the uniflow mod, but the truck wont even take off it starts but then it dies when i give it gas with the uniflow mod.
the air direction of the one-way valva is suppose to go into the fuel tank right?

so I'm wondering why my truck dies when i open the gas tank lid? it just started doing this the other day.

off topic but man with this nova cooling head i have to set the hsn at 2 3/4 turns out and it still wont run past 220 degrees.

the reason it dies is because there isnt any pressure on the tank.. if the lid is open then there isnt any pressure and the fuel doesn't flow to the carb..

it dies immediatley when i open the lid though. it didn't use to do this. is there a way to fixe this?

Don't use a one-way with the Uniflow Mod.

As far as stalling when you pop the lid, maybe your LSN is too lean. Try the pinch test.

with the uniflow you have to or fuel will siphen back out your exaust pipe.. i tryed it without one cause i didnt have one.. as soon as i closed the lid there it went pouring out the pipe..

I have been running the uniflow mod for about a year now and I do not get fuel out the pipe. You just need a longer pressure line. I sometimes see a little fuel running up my pressure line but it stops way before it hits my pipe. See here:

If you run a one-way valve you may end up flooding out the carb if you have fuel in the tank when the motor is off. If pressure builds in the tank with the motor off (due to temp changes, atmospheric changes, etc..) the pressure will have no place to go except the carb. If you really want to use the one-way I would still run a long pressure line and I would put the one-way right next to the pipe. I never saw the need for the valve.

I'm running the uniflow with one way valve and the way to keep fuel from flooding your carb or running into the exhaust when the engine is off is to remove the fuel line from the engine and run it back to the pressure nipple on the tank. It is a pain to do everytime you stop the truck but I don't like all the excess fuel line bunched on my truck. Fuel does get past my one way valve but not far enough to the exhaust.

Now that I am looking at your install rossb I do like the layout of your line, didn't think of running all the way to the front tower and around like that. I used to have mine coiled up and bunched and I really didn't like the messy look it made. I think I will run it like yours from now on and save myself the trouble of constantly disconnecting and re-connecting the lines.
