New to this gas thing, done an Intro and I've read the Revo manual. Thing would run last summer, although it would stall out when you let off the throttle. Now got it out and put some fuel in it (it had been setting in the bottle for a year) and it will not start. With the EZStart attached it would turn over at first. Now it seem to run a bit as long as the EZSatart is attached to it. Take it off and nothing. While it's doing this it's dumping fuel, and at first some oil mixed, out the exhaust. Really would like to get this thing running on my own, local guy wants $50 an hour to work on it. Seems high to work on an RC car.

Where are you located? That's what the shop I work at "charges", for us though, it's kind of a base price, once we get into the truck and see whats up, the price will be adjusted....most of the time it's less. Have you tried just going to the shop and asking for advice? We don't charge for "helping", it's when people come in and say "Here, make it run.", that's when we charge.

Did you put it up with fuel in the tank and lines? Nitro attracts moisture, and over time gums up and nitro will evaporate. I Would pull the tank and fuel lines. Get a can of brake cleaner (it drys fast with no residue) w/ the straw attached spray out lines and tank. Spray through nipple fittings on tank also. Take carb off. Remove the high side needle (black top) clean it good. Spray into needle seat w/straw, and through nipple hose fitting. Blow out with air. Set to factory base line settings, turn high side needle all the way in clockwise. Back out 4 full turns. Set low side flush with grey outer ring. Adjust idle gap no more than 1mm, thickness of credit card. Install carb, install lines. If you had a ton a fuel in the system without it running, i assume it was coming out of the resonator. Remove the glow plug, use ez start to turn it over several times. Install new plug, put fresh fuel in tank. Give it a shot! Good luck!

"It's more than a hobby...it's an addiction!"

Thanks for all the advice. Going o try and clean everything and buy new fuel. Fuel set over the winter (about a year old) and give that a shot. If I can't get it running fimnally found someone another hobby shop recommended that thinks it can get running for around $50 to $75. Worth it since the Revo and E-Maxx were given to me.

Put everything back to factory settings. Dump the old fuel and put some new fuel in it with a new glow plug. That should get you running again.

Turns out a guy 5 house down worksd on RC Nitro, Traxas is his favorite. Was in my garage today messing with the Revo and Maxx. heard someone call for me. Turn around and invite him in. He goes to his house and gets his things and tunes it for me. Discovered that the Revo has a bad clutch, which he gave me one. The T-Maxx has a "head gasket" problem. I hadn't noticed it had a fuel \leak from under the heat sink on the head. Hope I'm using the right terms. I wanted to replace the clutch myself, he offered (at no charge) but need to learn these things. he's going to help me tune it and hooked me up with a new carb, Revo had a slight leak.
