I have a moderaltely modified Traxxas Revo that uses the Trinity rear pipe:

The problem is that I keep bending the header towards the engine when doing wheelies. As you can see from the pic, I am not using the OEM pipe support point. This is because the rear body mount bends during wheelies and bends the pipe towards the engine.
I do have the parts to convert it to a side pipe:

How do you guys that run the Trinity rear pipe keep from bending the header? Also, how does the Traxxas side pipe compare the Trinity rear?

What hpi header is that that your going to make the side pipe with? My guess is that the trinity will provide more power, mine does, but the traxxas will give you a better tune, and cooler temps.

Hmm

I can't give you any info on traxxas pipe, but I will say I LOVE the sound the trinity makes.
I've heard from other people that the traxxas res. pipe is pretty quiet(slightly louder then stock?)
Sorry I couldn't help!

you can run an HPI header with the trinity pipe... it's black...

as for the side to rear comparison... i'm brushless... sooooo... someone should be along shortly.

Hmm. That is exactly what I would love to do, but I see a couple of problems with it. First, how do you couple the Trinity pipe to that type of header? Do I have to grind down the ring on the pipe so that the silicone coupler will work? Secondly, how do you orient the pipe? Is it upside down, with the "Trinity" on the bottom? This would put the support hole on the outside of the pipe instead of the inside. Otherwise, the exhaust stinger would be on the inside which I don't believe would work.

If anybody has any pics of this setup on their Revo, I would love to see them.

Here is what my parts are:

Is there any way to use the Trinity pipe in a side configuration? Otherwise, my original question remains. How do you guys that run the Trinity rear keep from bending the header?

you can run a piece of fuel line for a 1:1 car, or fuel hose, thats what i use for my exhaust couplers, they are a super tight fit. i use it on my THS pipe which has the flange for the springs and i run the OS .18tm stock header, i have a pic if u need to see how it all works out.

the hose melts a bit and shrinks and then hardens up real nice.

i've actually only had my pipe and header come apart 1 time. i've been running this set up for almost 14 months

I think what z400 is saying is that you can use the trinity pipe with the side header by using the 1:1 fuel line. Then you can switch between the resonator and the trinity and see what you prefer.

Personally, I just use nylon re-enforced silicone tubing and heavy zipties. I ran a similar one piece pipe with a two piece header on my savage that way for quite some time.

yes, thats what i was trying to say. lol

i was trying to type that and talk on the phone and to my mom at the same time

If you're having problems with chassis flex, you might want to try the Hardcore Racing full-length Titanium skidplate. It is almost indestructible and stiffens the chassis on my Revo 3.3.

My problem isn't chassis flex, when I use the tekno wing mount it causes the rear body mount to hit pipe and header when landing on the rear of the truck hard.
