I'm having a hard time getting the e-clips on my engine installed. any suggestions? please

If you have the clutch/bell assembled properly you should be able to see the "groove" on the crank that the E-clip goes into. I typically will be able to line it up and just give it a solid push on with no issues. Thats why I'm asking if you can see that groove on the crank. If not you probably have something assembled wrong
to many washers ?
