Real helpful there, Zandor.

pthekingj, you need to be more specific in your posting. TRAXXAS makes a lot of vehicles. Are you having a problem...or simply making a statement? Your comment so far makes things sound like normal...expect blue smoke...expect oil on the wheel. Those things are normal.

Traxxas

real funny...serious though my high mixture seems to be alright but i'm not so sur about the low:puke:

I have a traxxas 2.5 it flies, yu said it' normal for oil to accumulat on the rear wheel?

Again, you need to be more specific...what vehicle is this? What engine? How old? Is the engine properly broken in? The more information you can give us, the more help we can give you. Until then, we will be playing twenty questions.

high speed mixture vers. low speed that I have'nt touched but other than the blue smoke which i think is normal using alot of fuel and oil on rear wheel of Traxxas 2.5 already broken in bought it used.

Is this a T-Maxx, REVO, JATO?

What seems to be the real issue?

Blue smoke is normal. Depending on where your exhaust points, the right rear wheel will accumulate oil from the exhaust if it points out the right side...the left if the exhaust points out the left. That too is normal.

It's a traxxas 2.5 model 4910 I have no idea how old it is but besides the problems that I was decusssing ...it does not have elctric start and a brand new glow plug and came with all the extras...

Okay, the 4910 is the model number for the TRAXXAS T-Maxx.

The fuel on the right rear wheel is normal, and can be slightly resolved by purhcasing what is called an exhaust deflector.

CLICK HERE for products sold by Tower Hobbies. The exhaust deflector gets ziptied to the exhaust where the exhaust departs the pipe.

As for any other issue, so far you have not really specified one. Is it not running? Does it stall? You need to be descriptive on the issue at hand, because so far you have not described a really big problem other than the fuel oil on the rear wheel.

You have already been told that the smoke and oil on the back tire is normal so what is the problem?

fuel

why so much, alright i understand about the exhaust now ..... fuel a tank in less than 15 min is that normal????:bandit:

fuel fuel fuel

Thats about right...Have you done a pinch test?
You do it by starting your truck...Then pinch the fuel line about an inch above the carb..It should rev a little and die in about 2 to 3 sec...If it stays running longer its to rich on the LSN(Low speed needle)..If it dies before 2 to 3 sec's..Its too lean on the LSN...

Yea like Z, I would say 15 minutes is very normal for a tank of nitro. ahhh the smell of nitro. what a nice smell. almost as good as smelling beer.

Not to pick on you!
But if you would have seen the thread a few hours ago...He made no mention of what he had...
His posts were edited by a mod...
So he did read the post right the first time...

So look at this^^^^^^^^^^^^

You didn't see the thread from the beginning. His first post read "trying to get it fine tooned...blue smoke ..and oil on wheel..?" No other info was given, so maybe you should only comment when you are sure about what you are saying

Thank you for pointing that out. Strangely enough, when the thread started, the title read TRAXXAS. Then with the questions and answers in this thread it was determined that he had a T-Maxx...so, I changed the title and moved the thread to the appropriate location. Kind of what I do, moderator style. But thanks for pointing out that the thread has an appropriate title...seems my work was done properly. :D
