Traxxas Revo 2.2 nitro Transmission?

Could someone tell me how the transmission is supposed to work on this Truck?
I have a switch on my controller and when I hit it goes in to neutral and then it sometimes takes a min to go back in to gear when I hit it again. I would like to know if that is supposed to shift gears or does it have reverse. I bought it used and did not get any info on it. Thank you

reverse, the forward is an automatic 2 speed

it should go in reverse when you hit it ...if it doesn't , either the reverse gear is broken or the shift fork doesn't move in & out of the transmission properly ( i had that happen once )

try taking to screw out of the servo and hit the switch back and forth look to see if the servo is moving right. mine stripped three teeth off a gear inside the servo and wouldnt work.
