I want to get a set of alli Traxxas shocks for my Maxx, are they worth it compared to the plastic ones I have?

If you're talking about the Al Big Bores yes they're worth it. They have the Ti shafts and Al shock caps. Or you can just put Al shock caps on your stock shocks and those should hold up fine.

Any shock other than the stocks are a good idea and worth getting.

I do urge you to look at other alternatives than the BBs.
I have tried several upgraded shocks and the Traxxas BBs are better than stock but my least favorite of all that I have tried.

BBs need to be maintained more often than the others.

AEs are a good shock and last a good long time before needing maintenance.

My preference is the Losi (dynamite) As good as the AE but I like the way they fill and assemble better. (Personal preference).

FastEddy... do you have a link to the Losi shocks ?

I browsed a little around on Tower, but were unable to find them.

Regards :bling:

Here you go.

They have several different colors to choose from. When you open the Dynamite package it has Packed by Losi QA papers inside.

I was looking at them for the CyberMaxx.
I read a review in Xtreme RC cars. Th article was favorable. There take was they are no better or worse than the AE,BB, or Losi in performance but lasted a lot longer between refills and rebuilds due to the additional reservoir.

To me, thats worth the additional $40.00 not to mention the cool factor.

Let us know how you like them.

I can get the AE cheaper than the Traxxas shocks. Do the AE shocks bolt on properly inside the shock slots on the bottom arms? If theydo I will go for AE shocks.

Yes they do.
I like the Traxxas shock-ends better than the ones that come with the Losi shocks. you can replace the ends with the stock ones if you want.

What ever you do, use the supplies washers that come with the losi shocks to capture the ball ends. If you don't understand what I'm talking about I can post a pic.

I took a giant leap of faith and purchased the new piggyback shocks from Intagey. (TOP) They can be had for 89.00. The jury is still out on them but they seem to be a class act.

Both Darth and I got them so if your not in a hurry you may want to see what our thoughts are.

Sorry my bad, I should read better.:trashed:
I still like the TRX shock ends the best of all on the market, and yes they are designed for the Maxx.

Sure, The shaft size is the same.
Just use your old ones or get a bag of new ones.

As you assemble the ends use a rag on your pliers so you don't scratch your shock shafts. Screw them all the way on.

I love my GS 1/8 scale short buggy shocks I use on my Maxx. At $35 a pair its pricey but my Maxx handles like a wet dream now.

hehe you said shaft.

I still like the Losi shocks best. Much easier to maintain, they have no plastic cap to rip off and they fill from the bottom

I just got a set of piggyback shocks and will give them a try. I love trying different products. It gets expensive but I learn a lot.
