hello all, I must have a common problem with all my traxxas products (2 t-maxx's and a jato)
I cannot get them to start. period.:loser:
maxx #1 has a 2.5r with a tuned pipe, mcoy mc59 glow plug
#2 has a 2.5 with the same gp
jato has a 2.5 with the mcoy gp
they all are set back at factory settings, seem to have good compression etc... I have tried to eleminate the easy start glowplug system as I have heard nothing but bad about them(have a couple of good gp ignitors).I have had them all running in the past 2 weeks but every time it seems like I spend an hour trying to start them (each). once they are running they will start right up but...is it time to upgrade to the 3.3 3 times?
I know I am missing somthing I can get my buggy to start 3rd pull every time (wasp .28)

Make sure they are priming good with out flooding them, It is hard to eliminate problems with out being there for me but I am sure someone will pipe in.You might need new fuel and pressure line?

I have tried priming them a little, a lot, none at all...nada, they will sound like they are almost ready to catch but... nada.

Try dumping a little bit of fuel into the air intake of the carb, but not too much. You'll flood the engine.

when I prime the motor I am getting a small spritz of fuel coming out the top side of the carb, with the aircleaner off. I will try manual priming (down the carb hole). this is getting to be a real pain.I have dusted the batterys in all three of my wands. perhaps it is time for the pull start. anybody want to make a video of some one running over 3 traxxas rc vehicles with a large semi? lol

If you can get your hands on a Roto Start 2 ( it has a breaker in it ) that would help alot. It's much better than the Not-So-EZ-Start.

this may sound stupid but make sure your glow plugs work

fixed one 2.5 replaced the one way, it was going neither (locked)
fixed the 2.5r traded it for a 3.3 I will let you know how great it is
the other one... I am not pushing my luck and having all three work but I am pretty sure that the one way is foofoo on that too. (hope) if not, I'll be back (austrian accent)

i was having similar problems with the 2.5. double check that ur glow plugs are getting hot enough. I had one of those crappy C cell ignitors and ended up working a 9 volt in there to get it working. see if that helps.

a nine volt? what is your plug life like? I like it. I'm going to make one tomarrow

broke in the 3.3 today, all the other engines are going to go to traxxas and I am putting 3.3's in all. I was pulling both front tires off the ground at the 1/2 throttle part (third tank) you know go to 1/2 then brakes I would get to one thou. not even one thousand one and the front wheels are off the ground and second gear, wow!!

i just meet this guy that has a jato with a 3.3 in it and WOW that thing is smoking fast almost to fast for the track it would start lifting the front tires off the ground about a second after hitting 2nd gear and there is no way to stop it he says its cuz theres too much lift under the front end but he wants to race it and i told him he wsnt going to do good with it(cuz theres been like 3 different jatos at out track and none of them could get traction at all ) and he said maybe he might not race his jato he will buy something to race and bash his jato with some street tires and i told him he can race it during our onroad races and he said he would do that hope you have fun with it let us know how fast it is when its broken in
