So a buddy of mine and i have been talking to some distributors and lookin into becomeing a traxxas dealer. Nothing around us for at least an hour or more as far as LHS. Any tips or advice on which distibutor or any useful infofmation from anyone whom is already a dealer and can speak from experiance would be greatly appreciated!

Horizon is prolly going to be your best bet but the requirements to become a dealer with them are pretty tough. You MUST have a physical storefront and a solid business plan in place. They also require either a 10k or 30k minimum purchase and then a monthly purchase of 500 if I remember right.

Once I get my current business running smoothly and fully developed I am planning on building a nice RC shop with several different tracks similar to the ones you can find in cali.

Yes we talked to them but were shooting to find something closer so maybe the shipping would be a little quicker. We meet all the other requirements, he used to be a parts unlimited dealer for sled parts and stuff but the winters have been horrible for snowmobiling. We might actually have a 80x80 building with a store front in a rural area but waiting to here from the owner. But they have so many big buildings in our area we will have one we can use for sure.

The only other major distributor is great planes. Please make sure you do all of your due diligence before dumping a load of cash on this idea. There is a very small markup on most things and the profit margins in the hobby business can be very slim.

ok thanks.Well we have a real nice track out back of the shop now and we just keep adding people and trucks, and I'm the one buying tons of stuff from ebay for them and me.We r also working out an indoor track as we speak to race on this winter.

The track and an airfield both would greatly increase your parts sells in the business. Other than that your gonna be dependent upon service and repair for profit. Possibly even charging a daily flat rate for running on the track and airfield. Swap meets and rented spots fund raisers and car and air shows and so on and so fourth. All these things will help and then you also have to consider advertisement. Tv and radio adds are definite customer grabbers.

We have checked on a website that we could sell parts off of and have them sent from distributor to customer direct and the cost of having it designed is around $2000. But it is something that we are wanting to do eventually.
