Car is hard to start and when it does start it runs fine for a minute or so. I make a few trips around the yard and then it is hard as heck to get started and same thing again, it runs for a minute or so and dies. Anyone know why? Please point me in the right direction.

new engine, old engine?could be a bad glow plug,to lean, base setting on hsn 4 turns out, bottom flush with throttel arm,do the pinch test to check.with it running pinch the fuel line it should run to the count of 4 then rev up and die,air cleaner dirty, clean the carb with nitro, one little piece of dirt can cause havoc.check to see if it has any air leaks, seal engine, lots of vids out there to show u one more thing check your front bearing for leaks.welcom to the hobby, lol

it is on a car that has been sitting for a while. How do you check for air leaks? what does hsn 4 mean? when i pinch the fuel tube it dies.

When you pinch it dies instantly? If that's the case you need to richen up the low side. Try 1/8 turn counter clockwise and go from there.

i set to factory specs and it fired right up and ran good for a minute or so and then died. Tried to restart and it wont. It fires but doesn't start if i crank and crank it will fire up and run for 15 to 30 seconds and then just die.... i just wanna drive this thing lol.

man i was haveing a similar problem to this....i could get my 3.3 to start after a lot of trying and it would run...but as soon as you let off the throttle it would die..(5 to 10 seconds)...only thing i could figure was the bearings in the motor were bad....since i put another piston and sleeve in it and had the same problems....what i did to remedy the problem was buy a O.S. .21TM.....lol....from what i can tell the 3.3's blow goats....both of mine ran fairly strong but the didn't last long and they were both bitches to get tuned....my step sons 4.6 on his savage is the opposite...i broke it in got it tuned and haven't touched it since and its a beast...i have however bought a new 3.3 for my wifes tmaxx cuz i couldn't afford 2 O.S. motors...and now i have a little more proficiency with these engines I'm hopping to have a little better luck out of this 3.3....
