how far open at (wot) should should the slide on the carb open cus mine only opens a little over half in forward and half that in reverse.:surrender

It should open completely to the same as the inlet diameter.
Sounds like you have a linkage adjustment wrong,not centered in the servo travel or a EPA set wrong on the radio.

i just bought the truck brand new do you you think traxxas could have messed up with the linkage when they built it
Stock radio? Have you checked the throttle/brake trim knob on the radio?
