for some reason the idle stop screw doesn't move the slide gap at all really. i've just put a new carb body on but used the old parts.. its pissing me off because my motor wont tune in right because of this.. what the F  am i missing?????!?!?!?!?!?!

could it be that the guy at the lhs told me that the 2.5 and the 3.3 carb bodys are the same but the idle screw isn't as long or something??? its like i said; really peeving me off :hehe:

Did you try disconnecting the throttle linkage from the carb before adjusting? If not do that and lightly push the slide closed when you adjust the idle screw.
If you already did that and it doesn't work, who knows. My experience with 3.3 carb bodies hasn't been good. They work but damage very easily.

boy you can say that again about the damage very easy! the reason i had to replace it was because the high speed needle somehow (without me wrecking the car at all.....) ripped outta the body stripping it right clean.

last night before i went to sleep i took the carb off and went into my room and cleaned it out w/ compressed air and some WD-40.. it seems to be doing alright now. i just remember when i would set it i remember being able to have the gap at like 5mm wide if i wanted. (it never was though.) oh well i will put it back on tonight after work and then try er out.. its causing my motor to stall out when i put the brakes on and i have to run down the road get my car run back and start it again.. just a pain in the ol' ass!
:) gotta love RC's!

okay well a little update, if you will.
it runs/idles, but its just not running RIGHT. i can't get it to hit 200 degrees! i usually run it around 250-260 but for some reason its running at 170-180? i lean out the High speed, and the low speed, nothin. i dont know what is up with this thing!!! AHHHHHHH

maybe a video to follow...

Sounds like your HSN is boogered up from being bottomed out to hard. When that happens you have to run it like 1-2 turns out instead of 4.

I just put a new 11k carb on my 3.3 and it runs awesome! I bought a pair of eb modded os 18 tm's a while back, one with a new carb, one with a new piston/sleeve combo so I tried it. The 11k carb is about 75 bucks, so unless you have one already it's not really worth it.

yeah i dont have one laying around. i still havent gotten to cleaning the hsn yet, i've been CRAZY busy lately :(

I know how ya feel. I only have 2 days off per month from july to december. :\ Then from april to july it's 1 day off per week. The rest is 40 hours per week.

goddamn! sweatshop or what!!?!?! lol i finally cleaned the hsn didn't see any boogies, but shot it w/ carb cleaner anyways.
