I pulled my .15 Traxxas Stampede motor apart to attempt to reseal it and found quite a few metal particles from what appears to be from the bottom of the piston skirt on one side. I cleaned everything out really well and resealed the motor and placed back in the truck. Waiting for the rtv to set up and will run it later today. Don't know what to expect but the problem I was having was the motor was eating glow plugs. There was quite a bit of piston material on top of the piston sitting in the dome of the head so not sure if that was causing the glow plug to foul or not. In any event I guess the worst that can happen is that I go through one more glow plug and then crap can it and trade up to a 2.5 motor and mounting kit with Traxxas. Any thoughts????

Piston skirt shrapnel on the top of the piston is never a good thing and will kill a glow plug very quickly.
The piston and sleeve are most likely worn to the point of little compression. Depending on where the skirt broke, port timing can be altered and the engine would not run correctly anyway.
It will just cost a plug to find out.

It was running all out when pulled apart but progressively got worse at eating glow plugs, so I pulled it apart to reseal it. Tonight will be the last time I put another one in it if it eats that one....
