Yes, large permamnent onroad course with ability to change design/layout would be a HUGE hit.

I've been on the fence about getting into onroad racing for the last 2 years. With BARCAR in my backyard it was going to be a no brainer this year but then I heard they may not be comming back. SO, not that I'm trying to be loyal to them in particular but somewhere within an hour or so drive (Sorry Diver, CT, ProSpeed and FBF are too far out there for me) would put me back into the desire to run an onroad racer.

I don't think the electric guys would appreciate nitro MT's running with them but if it were up to me I'd say go ahead, kinda like monster jam with moving targets.

Ratzo if you build the ramp I'll bring the camera.

We talked about an onroad track last year but the $$ was a little out of the range for a new track like us. but if enough guys show up for the oval and offroad racing and the track gains some publicity the fiuture will look bright

if you guys know anyone interested in nitro toruring trucks on the oval let me know
I will get together with the other directors and get something going, I know they used to run an electric touring class and they were quick and fun the only problem is that you need capped tires on the oval regular rubbers aren't hard enough and foams last only a few laps.

Well I hope you guy's get big enough ($$) to build an onroad track. I know of several people that would love to race on road.
Me included.
I want an 1/8 scale (evola), but have no place to run.
That would be great.

Rob, since there is an ongoing fight with the local residents at Bridgeport, BARCAR may be coming back to your backyard just for gas touring and 1/8. Bridgeport may be reserved for electrics.

BTW, FBF is getting a permanent onroad course like Bridgeport. It is in the process of being surveyed and built as we speak. FBF is only a 45 minute ride from your neck of the woods ... can be tempting! Come on, you know you wanna run.

All I have so say is, from what I hear, Ace/Angel whatever is holding BARCAR back from holding races there.

He is the LHS owner in Bridgeport and thinks he is the bigshot and owns the track. (which he doesn't, it's owned by the city)

Now this is only from what I have read.

On the other hand, FBF rocks, I would have no problem going there, it just needs a little tweaking. With a new track, it should be great.

It would be a shame for Bridgeport to end though.

I'm not a huge fan of the crowd that goes to FBF. I'll hope that it moves back to the college in NJ.
If not, I will hope that Trax 70 can do something. They have a great bunch of people there.

Even if Trax70 doesn't have a "Permanent" track to start, maybe just a big ass asphalt patch and we do the firehose/2x4/rig-it-up deal to make the lanes. Thats what BARCAR has been doing here at the college and it works well. Its not ideal but it works. If the guys at Trax70 are 1/2 as good as everyone makes them out to be it should be some quality organized fun. Hell, if money is the ONLY issue, pass a can around every week.

I got an email from Tom Baffer today. This is what he said:

We will not run at Edison anymore - much too much work!..Bridgeport still has a shot left, we are talking to someone in the town - who knows what will come of it.

Robriguez, Cash is the only thing issue at trax-70 we would be willing to build anything in our power if we had unlimited funds and manpower,
the problem is that there are no paid employees at our facility. We build and
act as directors out of sheer enjoyment of this hobby, I am sure Ratzo will back me up when I say that we are extremely accomodating to all our patrons
if it is within our power. The pass around a can idea is a great idea it would not only help defray the cost of a new facility but show the owner an ongoing interest for an onroad track.

I would chip in for sure. If you guys are considering this you would certainly want to make it big enough for 1/8th scale cars.

I am very happy to see everyones interest in Trax-70, right now we are putting all our efforts into the offroad and oval track but that doesn't mean we forget about the future of our place. so come on down bring your dirt burners and we will talk about all the aspects of R/C racing and have a load of fun at the same time.

If I had to make a guesstimate, I would say an onroad track would probably run into the $40,000.00 range to complete.
No offence, but it would take a lot of chipping...lol

If I had my way it would be big enough for 1/4 scale formula 1 cars:dance:

Since they already own the land I would say thats pretty close Ratzo. So, they just need 2000 donations of $20 or more and were there. No Problem!!! lol

Hey, I'm not the one who originally suggested passing around a can. :hump:

Do they have a clean and open lot big enough for us to just lay out some fire hose, like they do at FBF?

I just got home from up north, it's been raining all day here and we haven't been able to do any work at the track, and we are susposed to have rain again Sunday so you guys might not want to make the long trip down as it might be an early day if the sun don't come out.

OK guys we are doing the free thing this Sunday since last Sunday was a washout, looks like we will have nice weather for Saturday to finish up some last minute items. with any luck I just might be able to race Sunday too, just started the buggy and all that's left is to paint the body and setup the suspension.

Ratzo,BUDDHA & I will be there... can't wait..
The dust was gettin thick on the ole R/C's...
