So I've just got back from tuning the maxx after breakin in the new engine . And I've trashed both diffs again . I've noticed my truck clicks sometimes wen i land jumps could my slipper be too tight ? I really can't afford another set at the mo so will have to put a spacer in there . Any suggestions

Theres to much lash in the gears you need to tighten everything up some or your gona keep blowin them shim it up.:D
 
What do you mean by lash ? Its all stripped. Gunna shim the diffs loosen the slipper and make sure everything is tight .
 
If the diffs are properly shimmed you should not be having the issues you are. I shimmed the diffs in my maxx a long ass time ago and never had an issue with them. You might want to let off the throttle before you land too.
 
Yea some times i have to blip it to bring the front end up . I do try to keep it so the wheels aint spinning too much in the air . But you can't help it too much . Will have to loosen my slipper some more and see if that helps . I have the diff locked on the back aswell could that be a prob . Never really drive on road always on loose dirt or sand or grass .

Lash is the amount space between the teeth(how loose or tight they are)If you are landing power on you may as well hit it with a hammer.:p:
 
Well took it for a test today and summit aint right think i shimmed them too much keep hearing an awfull lot of sqeaking and crunching so going to completely strip it down to pieces and give every thing a clean . Grease lube the lot . Gotta keep ma self busy untill i get my , blitz :):):)
 
Maybe i should look into getting some better diffs then . Are the revo one's better ?
 
Will run them till them till they break and then upgrade . Still managed to put the back one in upside down even tho i marked it . Probably the 3rd time I've done that now lol .
 
Does anybody no how much longer the extended chassis is compared to the original . ? Cheers.
 
4908/07 is 30mm longer than the 4910 chassis, split between the front & rear like 20mm front & 10mm rear.
 
If i get the extended chassis with bigger braces and put bigger wheels on will i have to put a bigger engine in it . ? Lookin to make the maxx bigger instead of buying a bigger mt . Cheers

More than likely if you want the same performance out of it your adding more weight bigger tires to turn probally have to change your gearing too.Its not to hard to figure out.:p:
