ok i have a noob question, this tmaxx, has reverse so when in drive the spur gear should only spin in 1 direction right? so whats it mean when the spur gear turns in either direction with no resistence?
 
If you still have reverse, it will spin either way with no resistance just as you stated. There is an internal clutch and you can't spin the spur fast enough by hand to engage it.
 
AHHH! thanks, ok so if it was last in reverse when it was stored it will spin freely, but if i manuely pull the rod in or out from the trans nothing happens
 
ok so i got the thing running, and tryed to get it to move, but it dosent, no reverse no foward.. can somthing in the rear end make it not move?, I'm lost here
 
The reverse switch might be stuck in between the two settings.

Do you have the 2.5 Maxx or the 3.3? The 3.3 uses Optidrive instead of the internal clutch.
 
its got a XTM 24.7 on it, which was on it when i bought so i dont no. but its a 4910, and there is no optidrive unit on it.
 
Does it have black plastic or grey plastic? If it's black then you have the 2.5 and the clutch is probably the problem.
