hey guys, i had my X 4.6 out yesterday and it seems that off the start it barely has any power. 2 days ago i did the tuning from the default settings, and i did it according to hpi's recommendations. when i had it in the dirt yesterday it struggled to go up a small banking from stopped. To me it seems like its stuck in second gear because it is really boggy and slow off the start but once it picks up speed it spits more dirt from under the tires then what it spits out when it is just starting off. Anyone know if this is the problem or not? and how it can be fixed??
Any comments are appreciated,
Thanks

i tried leaning the LSN and i just get the lean engine sound. when i accelerated and let off the throttle the rpm's stayed up and the classic too lean sound would come from the engine. When the engine is boggy off the start it was running between 265 and 270 F. so i dont think it should be leaned anymore.

i could always be wrong though! you are the expert and I'm the beginner haha

ok so i tried leaning the LSN that didnt help at all so i took apart the tranny to try and find something there. i think i found the problem too. 2 of the 3 screws that are attached to the 37T gear were loose and on an angle. where these were loose they grinded a big groove in the metal piece connected to the 44T gear. eventually making the 2 gears stick together and only second gear would work. Therefore the truck was stuck in 2nd gear. I tightened the screws and put thread lock on them so I'm hoping the truck will work fine when i try it out tomorrow.

For future reference you should get used to listening for the shift as a way of knowing if it's a trans or tuning problem. Glad you got it figured out.
If you need to readjust the shift point, wait until it's completely warmed up.

alright thanks! ill find out today after school if that was the problem or not. if it wasn't the problem causing it do bog down off the start, it was definitely a problem that needed to be fixed anyways!
