What's up every one, weather is quickly getting better, :).
I'm having a problem I keep snapping the main shaft in trans right front of the second gear clutch. Has anyone ever ran across this, I think it snaps just when it hits second gear. I'm thinking my slipper is to tight or second gear is comming in to soon and snapping the shaft, can someone give any input in this..... Thanks.

I'm running a 18t clutch bell, 40t spur, and a wide gear in the trans..

If this is on your BB Tmaxx with all rrp gears in the tranny, the primary shaft or top shaft will be the next weakest link. Adjusting the slipper a little looser and the shift point for a later shift is about all you can do unless you have the means to make a better shaft.

That's what I thought snookMan. No I dont have any way of making a better shaft would you know how I can get a better shaft for it?

I make my own shafts but usually only run a single speed when running a BB engine .28 or up.
Instead of the standard 5/6mm shafts I increase the diameter to ¼ inch and modify the gears to fit the shafts, and then send them out to be hardened.
I prefer to use the 2.5 transmission because the design of it leaves more room for modifications and it is easier to modify to my preference.
UE made the best shafts/gears for the Tmaxx but they are designed for the 2.5 black transmissions only.

Unfortunately you’re pretty much stuck with the stock shafts for the 3.3 transmission unless you take them to a machine shop and have them duplicated out of better quality steel and then have them hardened.

Great, well I guess I will have to ask a friend of mine for a favor.
Thanks snookMan. Once again you helped me out.

i used to have that prob. in my 523 maxx i tried every thing adjusted my shift point lossend my slipper and same thing it had rrp gears in it too it was the gray trans bought a black trans of ebay with rrp gears and no more broken shafts i like the old style slipper better it seem to take more abuse but thats open for debate

Well that's the price we pay for putting big power house eng in things that weren't meant for that kind of power. But until it blows up its a blast to run.
