i just as of last night dropped a 3 speed kit into my savvy x

and i want it to have lots of top end speed is there a way to adjust for that anyone have the know how to help?????

First off I would install the three speed and make sure it is shifting. If your tune is off it will not shift into third. I would not mess with any of the shift points until you get your tune good and can hear it shifting. After that you can just adjust the shift points by ear. There are no magic settings anyone can give you. It depends on motor, gearing, etc.

When I dropped the 3 speed into my Savage the shift point from first to second was perfect, but the second to third was a little low, so it would almost go right from first to third, so I had to open it up and adjust the shift point a little higher for third gear. Like the other person said just get it installed and try it out and you will know what you need to do from there.

i did install it and it does seem to shift good but it doesn't have a lot of top end like my other savvy does let me exsplain

my savvy 25 has a 3 speed trans hooked up to a picco p3-.28 motor and my savvy x has stock motor in it with a 3 speed i never adjusted the savvy 25 trans cause i thought it was working properly but know that the last guy menions that his seemed to jump strait from :first_place: to:third_place: i begin to wonder if i should check into that and how do i do the adjusting for them i mean i dont exactly know what i am doing in the trans other than switching out gears and using locktight to put it back together.

should i take it to a local hs to have them do it or would it be easier for someone to explain to a non tranmission inclined man here how to do!!!!!

It's a higher gear ratio than what comes in the 3 speed. An increase on the top end. It's about $10 on Tower.

You are comparing the top speed of a Picco to the stock motor? Well, there is your lack of top speed right there. The stock motor is a paper weight compared to a Picco or LRP. You will never get the top end you are looking for out of the stocker even if you went to a 6 speed.
