Sometimes it works fine, and out of no where it stops moving. engine still going but it locks up? The diffs seem to be fine because the move freely with no noise coming form them. The tranny is making a hard clicking sound. if i move it front to back a few times it seems to go away? the servos are fine so it seems it shifts smooth. The first time it happen the guy at the lhs put a lot of pressure on the wheels and started to move it back and fourth and it seems to sync back up. anyone have any idea what this might be?

I just took the tranny apart and everyting seem to be normal no gears are missing teeth or any thing like that any other ideas?

I had a similar problem with mine, but it was'nt occaisional it just locked up. Mine turned out to be a ring gear in the front diff. Try unhooking your drive shafts and roll the truck back and forth on the ground and see if the noise goes away.

I think thats what it might be. today i was playing with it and when i hit the brakes hard i heard a simular sound when the front dipped down or maybe it could be something else. anyone else have any ideas.

i am pretty sure that bashaholic is right. those were the same symptoms when my ring gear went out.

was it hard to replace and what was the part # so i can see exactly what it is that the ring gear is. did you replace it with the same traxxas part?

:hammer: ya looks like a ring gear I'm missing three teeth on the gear. What could cause this to happen?

I don't know what caused mine to break, it looks like a pretty beefy gear. Mine broke shortly after break-in with most of the running done in a parking lot due to mud and snow every where else. I talked to Traxxas and the guy said "it only takes one wrong hit to break it" which kind of suprised me.

ya i thought the same thing cause it is so big an beefy? well thanks for all the help.
