Does any one here know if the emaxx tranny will drop right in to a maxx 2.5 chassis? I converted my maxx to brushless and i keep stripping tranny gears, I'm hopping the emaxx tranny might hold up better. Any help would be great!

I'm almost positive that it's not a direct bolt on; that the chassis has to be modded a bit. Pretty sure that the output shafts are bigger on the E tranny as well, compared to the pinion shaft on the diffs. Are you using the stock 2 speed tranny? If so, swapping to the newer slipper assembly may be a cheaper/easier solution. It'll allow you to dial in the right amount of slippage. The old slippers pretty much need to be locked if anything bigger than a 2.5 is being used. Brushless throws torque down instantly, so the old slipper doesn't stand a chance. You'll lose speed by switching to a single speed tranny as well, but I'm sure you can compensate with gearing. Your conversion has me intrigued. Any chance of some pics? How does it work when it isn't shredding gears? I'm most curious about knowing if the 2 speed works correctly.:)

Well matt, I already installed the revo slipper clutch after burning up those stock plastic pegs in no time, and i installed the forward only and single speed conversion. All drive shafts are steel and the diffs hold up fine, my only weak spot has been the tranny, and maybe the slipper wasn't adjusted right but i can only let it slip so much before it gets REALLY hot! A good set of metal gears might be nice! But when it works it shreds! And maybe my problem is running the mamba monster system on 4s lipo. I can easily get it to flip on its back (probably not what traxxas intended)! I can try to get some pics up tomorrow. Its was a fun build though, and is way funner to drive now! ::hehe:

That's a pretty cool, simple setup. I really like it. I've thought about a conversion in the past, but not enough to research a motor mount. You've come this far with it, maybe it's time for some Robinson gears. $100 more and you'll be solid.:)

i'm thinking of the same build over the winter. I have a spare extended chasis and too was wondering if a e-max trans would fit. Tired of fighting with a tune in the cooler fall temps up here in Canada. Want to use a slash body as the size seems okay. Should make a fun basher.
