hey I'm new to the forum, and i've had an MGT since may. love the truck. i have a quick question i hope you guys can answer. my tranny was sticking a few weeks ago, and i couldn't find out what it was. i found the thread in here that some one else posted about the tranny sticking, but it never actually said what the problem was. anybody know what it was? i put the tranny back together today, and now it seems fine.

Welcome to RCNT Redfox03! When you say your tranny is sticking are you referring to it not coming out of second gear or the tranny just isn't moving at all?

If it's not down shifting then check your idle, it may be set to high.

If the gears aren't moving at all then make sure they are properly lubed and check all your bearings in the tranny as well. Also make sure none of the gears are stripped.

Hope this helps!

yeah it would down shift. i meant it was sticking by like when i push it it feels as if something in the tranny is binding. i opened it up and everything was fine though. strange it doesn't stick anymore now, which is a good thing i might add. i was having nitro withdrawal. might have been a bearing, unsure though. i have another question too. is the little two speed adjuster thing supposed to stick out like that? posted the pic below.

You also may want to put it back together again with all the screws. If it only sticks when its screwed together, it may be a shim issue.

I am going to say bearing. Have you checked to make sure a bearing did not seize?

i am doing the same thing in my mgt and the 2nd gear adjuster shouldnt stick out like that loosen the set screw and make sure it is flat with the gear and that should fix your prob. John

I'm having the same problem and my bearing are not sezed and my set scew is not out like that. its like the bearing get to close inside the trans and i tear it apart and slit them apart and put it back together and it work fine i dont know i dont get it
