Here is the deal. I have a 2.5 T Maxx with a FOC in it. Since I have got this thing it sometimes acts like the tranny is in neutral and it starts to rev higher than at idle. It was only doing it after I jumped it but now it does it all the time. As soon as you go to shut it off you can hear and feel the tranny lock into gear again and you can take off. Then it will kick out again. Any ideas?

I found the problem. The set screw that holds the spur gear to the shaft keeps coming loose. If it happens again I'm locktiting the bitch.

I think it's you one way bearing on first gear. Clean it, then a little drop of oil.
