No my sexual organs arent the problem....thank god.

4One of my friends has a Tmaxx among the 98283 rc things... and her tranny broke i think. Now when you start it and it runs it idles sooo high, and everything like the needles are set to low.. (handheld too.) And you press the gas it either bogs down or (motor) and dosnt go anywhere.

So naturally i thought it was the tranny. Now since i dont know much about traxxas (hpi guy), the only thing i know is to beat the living poop ouuta them. So i took the tranny out. And the first thing i did was spun the spur gear. DIDNT move the axles. Spun the axles and nothing. Also i engaged 2nd gear by the lever thing on the back side, got it to catch for a second then nothing.

No clue if these pics are gunna help but here:

The levers for reverse. I'd do a forward only conversion and put it back together. Tighten the slipper all the way, back it off 1/4 turn and fire it up. Or if ya want reverse, make sure everything's good and put the trans back on. Nothing looks broke in the pics, but I don't know these trannys very well. I just took all the reverse junk outta mine and put the foc in it. I think suicide's on the right track with the slipper. Did she crash into something? If so, something could be broke. But if it just stopped moving, the slipper coming loose could be the gremlin.

i think i might have the same problem

I just bought a tmaxx 3.3
I broke it in according to the dvd and it ran like a champ all day. What ended my day was i started to notice it would rev really high and wouldn't go as fast. it ran like that for maybe 3 passes and then it would only rev up high and jump a bit but wouldn't move. My car knowledge tells me its a clutch but I'm so new to these trucks I don't know if that is the case. Any ideas? the clutch you told him to tighten, how do you do that?
thanks so much!

It's the slipper clutch that he is refering too, the spur gear is a attatched to it and there shoud be a little nut in the middle of the spur gear that can be tightened down, if this come loose the motor will rev up spinning the spur gear that is turned by the clutch bell, but because the nut is loose it is not geabbing on the slipper clutch pads behind it and not moving...

I think both of you could benefit from a quick read of the manuals. You can google them if you don't have them. Both these problems sound like slipper clutches being loose, though it could be different problems. The manuals cover trouble shooting pretty well. Good luck and post updates.

i needed to run to the hobby shop for a part and some gas so i asked the guy up there and it was the slipper clutch. He tightened it up for me and so it should be fixed. I'll let you know what the final verdict is once my receiver battery is charged and i run it.

Thanks guys!. I was/she was driving it at around 25ish down the road, and it bogs down for some reason, thus starting this problem so no crashes yet. I just got home, but ill take it to hobbytownUSA down the road....and let you guys know!
