i had a problem with the reverse on mine not long after i got it ...it only needed a good cleaning ......as for it staying in first gear , could be the shift point that needs adjusting ...or you are running to rich ( which would make it sluggish a bit )...you need a good tune on the engine if you want it to shift properly ...

i would take the tranny appart and check things out ...when i took mine appart , i found that a couple things needed tightnign inside ....i put it back together and never had a prob since ...shifts like a charm ;)

With the reverse problem does the servo push/pull the pin in and out...??
With the shift problem.. exactly what Macguyver said..
Check the tune and shift point 1st.. then pull tranny apart if u have too

good point for the '''does the servo push/pull the pin in and out''''

mine the pin would not pull out to shift it in reverse ...but i could force it out with a screwdriver ...so i took it appart and cleaned everything ...it fixed my reverse problem

yea it is a servo problem it dont move it all the way in to drive so i was only gettin half power so imma work on gettin a new one tomorrow thanks guys for helping figure out the problem

I actually like having Reverse on my Revo ATM...

But i know later down the track ill definatly be getting a FOC...

yea but it gets stuck and clicks but when i click it by hand it goes forward and put it bak to drive and still goes forward and when i drive it still won shift to second and revs high :( take it apart again i guess

Unfortunatly you may have to..

So you have allready checked out the inside of your tranny...??
If so, What did you find..??
How is your optidrive sensor..?? condition.? plugged in properly.?
Do you have a spare just to see if the other is shot..?
How old is this Revo..? did you buy it new..?

A FOC is definatly the way to go but if ur like me and dont mind having reverse then keep troubleshooting :)

did you try to adjust your shift point ??

i used a bit of silicone spray on the shift fork shaft before i put it back in ....made sure to clean the hole where the shaft comes out of the tranny to ...there is a small ball in there that sticks out a bit ..thats what makes the shift fork shaft lock in place ...maybe thats whats causing it to get stuck

also ...once the shifting servo would not operate properly ....all i had to do was to reprogram the optidrive

i have 2 revo's one stock w/ rev and opti drive
and one with FOC and all I call say is i can't wait to do the FOC on the other one..
wow what FOC difference it makes, motors are about same age and driven about the same with the same after run care and cleaning.
the one w/FOC launches harder and faster than the stock one
The FOC well worth the time and money:)

how would i reprogram the optidrive?? and yea i figured it out i found a broken pin on the drive shaft that holds the gear in place i changed it with a new one it worked for five minutes than breaks again... any idea's why the pin would keep breaking?

with the throttle in neutral ....press and hold the SET button on the optidrive till the light flashes green twice ..then release ..you are in programing mode now .

- pull the transmitter trigger to full throttle ..hold it there till the light flashes green 3 times
- release it to neutral ...the light will turn solid green

thats it ....the servo wont move when you do that ..... and make sure that the throttle trim is at ''0''( once , my shifting servo would not operate at all ...all i did was reprogram the optidrive and it was back to normal )

I'm having trouble picturing what pin your talking about ....a pic would help ;)
