Does anyone know if anybody makes hop-up tranny cases and electronics boxes for MGT's yet?

I don't think any one makes after market cases yet. but look around you might find something.

What kind of hop-up radio boxes are you looking for? I haven't seen much in the way of radio boxes other then the stock one, then again what needs improved on it?

I'm looking for everything blue anodized basically. I have 2 MGTs, one for thrashing and the other is all blue anodized parts (a model). The tranny case and electronics boxes are the only thing missing. I don't need it for improvement just a unique looking ride.

Potentate,

Honestly I don't think you'll have very good luck finding an aluminum radio box, being that it's one peice making that all aluminum would not only be much heavier but also pretty expensive.

If you're looking for a custom look, one thing I've thought about doing is maybe adding some chrome vinyl to the box. You can get the vinyl in different colors and I know there's one or two members that could probably hook you up for a small price if not then your local auto zone or simliar auto shop could.

A few places a friend uses can chrome plate plastic and then give it the anodized apperance. Just a thought. Let me know if you want the info.

The MGT radio box can be modified so the RX Box can be "removed" so to speak with a dremel. Th rx pack can be ziptied to the chassis. This will lighten the load but not much.

You can also give it a couple coats of spray paint, Chrome Silver first then Translucent Blue. Just try it on some scrap plastic first to see if they are compatible. I did this on a few models that I have built in the past. It looks a lot like Blue ano.
