I heard alot of people at my local hobby shop said that the revo has a lot of problem with the tranmission. Whats up with that?

There is nothing up with that.
Honestly, I have never even had to crack mine open yet. I bash the crap out of it and have had no issues as of yet. I haven't heard to much about transmission issues over the last year that it has been out.

Ask your self why they would say that? Are they trying to sell you something they make more money on or something they are over stocked on?

Whats do you find great about the revo, any cons? I haven't decide yet what nitro rc i wanna get.

Not a true statement on the tranny, some of the early runs had a gear problem but that was very very few. I did the FOC on mine and it's the only time I opened it up.

I had 2 gallon and the tranny still in very good shape. I recently put in a FOC and I like it.

Zero problems with my tranny and I beat the hell out of it. Only time i opened mine was to install the f.o.c.

Love my Revo. Just dont like the 2.5r anymore.

and smooth launch .. real smooth .. plus you don't have to worry about the crappy mini servo, optidrive sensor.

A stupid noob question of my own.
With the T-Maxx FOC, it removed 30% of the internal gears as well as the servo and related items.

Having not researched this yet, is the Revo FOC just removal of the servo and locking the transmission in Froward only, or is it closer to being the same as the T- FOC?

Just a side note about LHS's telling u crap:

My local Hobbytown is funny that way....anything they don't stock...happens to be CRAP according to them. Asked for Ofna parts...RESPONSE: we stopped carrying them because of their shady practices. Asked about schumacher parts...RESPONSE: We don't deal with them cause they don't cooperate well with us. Asked about Cen parts....we don't wanna carry them cause they make crap. Hmm funny u carry duracrap! Anyways...LHS's are funny sometimes....do your own research and form your own opinions!

removel of the servo , sensor and all reverse gears.

pretty much, it gets rid of the extra gears in the tranny so the set of gears is lighter so it will spin faster. plus getting rid of the extra servo and things lightens it up abit.

So the foc make the truck more light... so its faster??

Correct. Any weight lost will make the truck faster.

how light can you make the revo as much as you can? Will it affect its durability?
