anyone know of a program that i can use to do a track layout?? preferably a free program.. i saw on eon here that was green and silver it was a two stage layout with the first stage being a circle then adding the rest in the middle.. but i can't find the thread.. the program he used would be GREAT!! i really need to get this done because were starting on the track saturday and all i got ar crappy hand drawings!! thanks

This took about 2 min with paint.

showphoto.php

it was scott something.. noone has a program to do it with??

I have cadd progs I use for all that stuff.....download the free trial version of Visio 2003

I've got visio.. can i do it in there?? which tab?? all i got was like roads the never wnet strait!!

I'm sure there is a visio site it's an MS product part of the MS office suite....
Beason how did you get roads that didn't go straight?? where you using the freehand tool????when you draw a line w/ the regular line tool hold shift and it will stay at Horizontal, vert or 45 deg angles...than you can just start drawing another line and have it just connect to the previous ones handle....keep going until you lay it out how you want......there's a lot more to doing it w/ all th ewhistles and bells...if you do a line drawing of what you are envisioning I can draw it for you in like 5 mins.......post a paint version of what you want and I'll give you a clean dimensioned drawing to use.....

it was all in fun man...it's a cool cadd program if all you need to do is 2d drawings...it has no rendering functions....very easy to learn...use the hot key commands they make drawing so much faster......my boss takes literally 5times longer than I do to make the same drawing....

It is a BIG ASS program!! But i am still gonna download it and see how good it works. If it werent for the name Microsoft on it, i would never download that big of a file.

it's like mixing Autocadd w/ paint shop pro.....I use it for everything...even word processing and just doing collage type documents for my kid....very free formed in how you format text and page layouts and stuff.......draw a box put it on the page and type your text in it bam there is a cell...but you can move it anywhere you like just by dragging it....right click any object and format...you have endless options.....

When u open it, what category and template did yall use to make a track?

WHat do yall use under Visio? I couldnt find a category or template to use to do a track.

ITS NOT a program specifically made for doing tracks..it's a CADD program....just open a blank page and start drawing....if you use paint you can use this.....just hold shift while you draw a line and it will stay straight...there are a ton of hot keys to use...if you learn them that program is fast....I use it for everything except photo editing....and spread sheets....
