TQ 2 Radio for T-Maxx

Will a TQ 2 radio work for my t-maxx. the radio is crapping out and 2 channels are much cheaper.

That depends on wether or not your truck has reverse or not. If not then it should work just fine if it does have reverse then no because the 3rd channel operates the servo that puts the truck in reverse.

It does not have reverse. I figured thats how it worked. I can get a TQ2 for around $10 shipped. Thanks for the info. I dont need to chance the receiver too right? The 3 channel will work with a 2 channel radio?

Yes your 3 channel Rx should work just fine as long as you have the same crystals in both the Tx and Rx.

Got the TQ 2 radio and it works great. $10 on ebay....

I'm also using a tq2, only after the battery compartment of my tq3 caught on fire and I smashed it in anger...true story.
