just wanted to share info.. i just bought one to replace my hyper 8 port race..

But better...

Gdog, keep us in check on how that engine performs, ease of starting, reliability, torque, stuff like that. I really want to know because I'm saving up already and I got about $200 and need $25 more for shipping but I'm almost there. I really want some info, any info would be appreciated-first hand buyer info is always better than manufacturers info-:wohoo:

The Wasp .26 is the exact same engine as the Picco .26.
Both made by Picco, one is distributed by Ofna and the other by
Orion. Same engine, same Carb just different color cooling head. I like the Orion Wasp head myself. Should run as good as Picco. can't go wrong with either one!! Good luck.

Sorry but I think your mistaken. The crankcase on both the picco and wasp are very diffrent. The overall shape is way off and just because the cooling heads look the same-doesn't mean they are from the same maker. If this is right however, why in hell would Orion be affiliating with Ofna? I seriously doubt they are the same. I know people who have this engine and they are having tuning dreams with the wasp while on the other hand, the picco is a big nightmare. And finally, price is another diffrence. Why such a big leap for the orion? Because its better.

The Picco isnt a tuning nightmare. Tough yes. So is ANY racing high horsepower asskicking mill. (except O.S.) And since they revised their LSN everything has been just fine. Seriously.

Both the Wasp and OFNA Picco .26 are economic balls.

And albeit, the same, they have different colors ;)

SilentHunterKellen, the only reason that the ofna ”version” of the Picco .26 has been had to tune is because the first load they send out was mounted with the wrong MSN, they have the silver one with is for the 7 mm venturi but the picco .26 is mounted with a 8 mm venturi so the needle should have been black, I know cause I got one with the silver MSN but have change it to the black one, so now I have no prob with overheating, overload and it’s so must easier to tune

Just to let you know, I put a Nova head on my stock engine and it lowered the Temps dramaticaly. Temps went from 260-280 to about 240-265. And thats with an outside temp of about 100f. Here is the link. It is a bit pricey and they make one for the .26.
For me, it was worth it!

Or you could get a cnr head for the same price and lower the temps even more. Plus it looks cool too.
